Austin, Texas-based Whole Foods Market Inc. turned to social media to recruit 6,000 new store employees.
The company is having a National Hiring Day on Nov. 2., encouraging prospective employees to show up casual, prepared to interview. Whole Foods says people who show up have the possibility for on-the-spot job offers.
The company launched a website, joinwfm.com, with FAQs for prospective employees, where they can fill out a pre-hiring day application to streamline the process.
I’ll sign up for official moji taster...
Thats a job I could gobble up
“Moji?”

it might take 6,000 people just to type that.....if she every hyphenates that last name, it could cause a Y2K meltdown of last name fields that are hard-coded in length.
;)
If you show up with a man bun and tattoos you’ll probably be a shoo-in to be hired. If you’re also a minority, you’re guaranteed to be hired.

Noodle cutter?
Does anyone else get the impression that since”HE” took over the White House, there are more and more “HELP WANTED” and “NOW HIRING” signs everywhere you look? Virtually each day, here, I read where one company or another is either opening a new plant or even building a new factory?
Haven’t seen this in too damn many years. Why?
I don’t know. I tried to pronounce it and passed out.
(for those who might remember the old, old Steve Martin joke about speaking French - you have to choke on the words to pronounce them correctly).
I suppose that’s Germanic-based?

Didn’t Amazon buy them recently? Is this the result of that acquisition?
If so that’s the first time I’ve heard of one company buying another and it results in adding workers instead of massive layoffs.

Here in Reno there is a total labor shortage in virtually all skilled trades. I really wish I had the forsight to hire roofers and carpenters and plumbers back a couple years ago when they were desperate for anything
Massive labor shortage brewing. Inflation coming ...

I figured Japanese-German
Ramen=noodle
Schneider=cutter (or tailor or similar)
;)
Good Black and White cookies at Wegmans.
Then we need cheap, illegal labor, fast. /s
Erk. My bad. MOCHI. I misspelled that four-letter word. (hanging head...) Mochi are marshmallowy confections the Japanese are crazy for. The Whole Foods we go to has them, and we always get a few. Recipes are online, but apparently the construction is complicated. Making myself hungry, here...
