Parents need to tell Google to Take Their YouTube-Kids-App Down

Monster lurking under your child’s bed has been lurking there since 2015

Generations Y (Millennials) and Z (Centennials): this is what your little children are now watching on shocking, mass-distributed Internet videos.

In so-called ‘child-friendly’, ‘family-friendly’ cartoons of the day, millions of your children are watching Spider-Man urinating on Elsa from ‘Frozen’; Mickey Mouse hit by a car and lying there dying in front of a crying Minnie; Pippa the Pig being tortured while screaming and crying. People should ensure they know what their kids are accessing.

No smart phones under 14yrs.

Only internet access on a filtered PC with visible screen in the living room.

Only parents are to blame. Nobody else.

Disgusting. Oh, and it’s “Peppa Pig” as any good Grandpa knows. ;-)

That's completely ridiculous. Both of mine got theirs at 8. If you think their children won't have DNI's by 4 or their own devices by 18 months or 24, you're missing the reality of technology. Our grandchildren will NEVER be not connected.

“you’re missing the reality of technology”

No, but perhaps you are.

I’m in the tech business, working for a name everyone knows.

And I can tell you children should not have these devices. Otherwise they will be somebody’s else’s children, not yours.

Of course it’s your choice. I’m just offering the warning.

As am I, for a company you have used or are using.

I can assure you, children should and will have these devices. To assume they won't is like saying children wouldn't have access to books at the library in the past. With that comes both good and bad, and the need for good parenting, but I definitely disagree with your approach of ignoring something that can't be ignored.

A strong moral foundation is critical in all situations, regardless of the tools around a child.

I would not ignore.

As a parent I would forbid it. I simply would allow no household money to be spent in that direction.

I would get them a Cricket phone with no screen or internet access. Justaphone.
