Sunspot Update for January 2018
Behind the Black ^ | February 4, 2018 | Robert Zimmerman

Posted on 02/06/2018 5:53:37 PM PST by Voption

As you can see, the low sunspot activity of the past two months continued in January. November 2017 remains the most inactive month for sunspots since the middle of 2009. January is now the second most inactive month, with December a very close third...Regardless, the low activity, this soon, continues to suggest that the next maximum will also be weak, and might even not come at all, as some solar scientists have proposed. Instead, we might be heading toward another Grand Minimum, with no significant sunspots for decades.

Good deal!
Friend of mine went to Baja in ‘93 (I think it was) for the Total Eclipse. Have some great pictures he took, on my wall.

It was '91; I was there, too. Went to the centerline and was clouded out by a thin layer of clouds at totality... don't want to talk about it. Saw the one last August from Nebraska, finally success, 1 for 3.

Already happened.

Inconvenient: NASA shows global sea level…pausing, instead of rising

They weren't rising much anyway.

While working with AM radios throughout my military career I would sometimes tell people (LT’s) that the radio wasn’t working due to sunspots. They always thought I was full of crap.

For what it’s worth:

I remember in 1968 and 1969 seeing sunspots clearly when the low overcast and valley fog of Southern California dimmed the sun enough to look directly at it. It was amazing that you could see not only large sunspots, but several small ones too.

While those same conditions have occurred numerous times since in my area, I have never seen sunspots but one other time, and that time was not as good. (maybe 15 years ago)

Thanks for the correction! ‘91 was the year. He went with a group sponsored by Scientific Expeditions.

Sorry about your weather!

TPITWWP! - This post is totally worthless without pictures! /s

Seriously, your glorious struggle in the pursuit of art is greatly appreciated.
