CAN ADAM LAXALT SAVE NEVADA FOR THE GOP?

Posted on 02/09/2018 2:14:50 PM PST by DIRTYSECRET

The name is a big plus. The number of hispanics in Nevada is a big negative. By not running for the senate where a loss would be political suicide he's running for a statewide office where even the Democrats prefer adults. A good set up for the future. Can Nevada be saved? Only if we keep the Senate seat with either Tark or Heller. I would leave Heller in Trumps hands.

He’s a Domenici ... good for Latin votes.....

“Laxalt is the son of the late former Republican U.S. Senator from New Mexico Pete Domenici

and Michelle Laxalt, the daughter of former Republican Nevada Governor and U.S. Senator Paul Laxalt.”

Heller is an Amnesty Senator.

He needs to be replaced.

If he's the son of Pete Domenici, why is his name Laxalt?

(BTW, though its been a few years, I'm acquainted with Pete's son, Pete Domenici, Jr.)

Because he’s the product of an affair. It wasn’t made public until after Pete Domenici retired. It’s not Adam Paul’s fault, though, and I support him 100% for Governor. He might be President one day, which his grandfather (who is still alive) should’ve been after Reagan.

From what I understand, Ronald Reagan was considering Paul Laxalt as his running mate in 1980. Had he chosen him, the history of the world after 1988 would have been quite different.

Just seeing Laxalt from Nevada brings back great memories.

Even Reagan had to compromise with the RINOs. Thank God Trump doesn’t have an albatross named Bush.

I remember this; Laxalt thought he was going to be the pick and then the wretched Bush emerged, apparently bc the Rinos put pressure on Reagan. Mark my words - we would never have had the Bushes as president unless RR made the unfortunate mistake of picking him over Laxalt. Other than that, Reagan was my favorite president, then Trump the Bush gang the least. I’d rather have Jimmy Carter, ugh!

Laxalt is THE name to have in Nevada Republican politics.

He just better be as good as his grandfather Paul Laxalt, Reagan’s First Friend and the man Reagan wanted for his Veep.

Danny Tarkanian, apparently at the urging of the President, has ended his primary challenge to Heller and is running for House district 3 instead. He narrowly lost district 3 in 2016, while Trump narrowly carried the district. Several other prominent Republicans appear to be running, the seat is open as freshman rat Jackie Rosen is running for Senate.

Heller has a few other primary challengers, all desultory, so he’s as good as renominated, with the support of the President.

The bad news is that Baris thinks he can’t win, that he’s polling at 30% cuz of his neverTrumpism.
