YAY! :) This was the only event I've watched in full so far at the Olympics and it was SOOOOOOOOO WORTH IT!
Went to overtime and then they won in the shootout.

Canadian goalie stood on her damn head in OT, what a shootout!
As soon as the entire game was being played in front of the Canadian net from about the middle of the second period onwards, I was saying you could stick a fork in Team Canada, it was done.

If I was a smoker I would have smokes two packs watching the last hour of that game. AMAZING.
In U.S. High school boy’s hockey (and probably the NHL) they go into sudden death overtime. I know I’ve seen games go into double OT, but they might draw a limit on it and go to a shoot-out in the third or something. I don’t know. Didn’t years ago the US won over the USSR in OT? So I wonder if the shoot-out is a women’s thing.

Except those are the kind of games when you don’t score after all those chances one mistake by you and the other team scores and the air is completely out of your team. I’m a Ranger fan so I’ve seen enough of those games over the years. Not this season when they’re just mailing it in, but in the past. Awesome win for the women. 20 year old Maddie the goalie was phenomenal. The stick save she made in OT was one for the ages. Way to go USA.
OMG! Another shootout? Argh! We've just *got* to reign in the NRA, and elect 100% Dems to all public offices. The Children of America demand it! Widows and orphans too.
