We are a diversity of people with diverse interests and desires and yearnings about with whom we will and will not associate. The point of our Republic is to leave us free to our own interests with interferrence from the state only when our actions either invade someone else's private property rights or invade his rights in the public sphere.
I personally don't give a fig if I am "united" with some random set of citizens selected from Sacramento CA or Bismark NK and to have this discussion is to fall into the trap of progressives who would moderate or modulate our freedom of association including the freedom not to associate at all.

Well said! Some need to “unite” with Progressives is naive at best. How many times do we have to have that football yanked from in front of us before we stop trusting them? They will not “unite” with us until we surrender to their Godless ideology. They are Marxists! They aren’t well-meaning people who have errors in judgement. Their ideology is evil.
