It’s a decent gun though.

The Las Vegas shooter had decent taste. While it seems like a schmuck thing for me to say, we all know that the selection of firearms means a LOT. It tells us more about the user than many other investigative breadcrumbs.

Fame/celebrity, most likely, as with most rampage shooters.

They decide to commit suicide, and want to go out with their name in the “record books”.

Mass murder is one of the ways the media has assured that suicides can go out with their name forever recorded as a celebrity.

There are numerous examples of people with that motive.

I had an ultra lightweight S&W .38 Special +P revolver. Stung like hell with +P rounds. Sold it.

Yes, they recoil quite sharply.

As an instructor, I saw husbands giving their wives this sort of revolver. They flinched terribly.

I had them shoot a Colt Woodsman in .22 LR.

They followed instructions and shot nice little groups at five yards.

Made an enormous difference in their attitude about shooting, and in their confidence.
