Whether you're a conservative in Hollywood or in state, local, or federal government or somewhere in the academic world, you know full well what can happen to your career if you carelessly let slip your political preference. It can, and often does, result in significant, negative ramifications to your career.
Any American who's spent any time residing in the State of California knows illegal aliens disregard our laws, have no problem tapping into our social services with fraudulent documents, have little desire to assimilate, and in a lot of cases, insist we embrace them and the system they decided to flee. The variety of injuries they cause on citizens is a direct result of government officials like Schaaf who blow off laws she doesn't agree with ("broken") and puts the very public at risk she pledged to help to get her elected in the first place.
It's easy to now play the victim, telling all who'll listen about "death threats" being issued without producing one email or phone recording. It's easy to hold back fake tears after assuring a potential electorate that she's a strong woman. And now, Libby Schaaf has the audacity to whine about "political persecution" because she's not shielded from breaking the law like those she places a priority in protecting.

She should remember, many legal immigrants want the Migra to do it’s job. There are too many MS13 types popping up all over the state. They are extremely dangerous to everyone, in particular to other hispanics, because that population is where they first try to blend in.

I used to go to Oakland on Sundays to get foreign newspapers. It was a dangerous business even in the 80s. When I mention it, though, people tell me how beautiful Oakland is. I’ll take their word for it. Wouldn’t go anywhere near it, myself.
Haven't been there in quite a few years but the part of Oakland in the hills, near Berkeley, was nice, at least it was years ago.
