The recent rejection of California US Senator Diane Feinstein as not being leftist enough and of Illinois Congressman Dan Lipinski as unworthy of support because he is the last remaining pro -lifer will cause Democrats subtle yet serious problems. Money which is scare on the Democrat side will NOT find its way to unapproved Democrat candidates regardless of the electoral consequences. Big star Democrats will NOT show up for their fund raisers and unions will NOT send workers to fill the ranks of unapproved candidates staffs.
Kevin, you’ve given nothing for hummblegunner to bellyache about!
The Hate Trump Express may not be working as well as expected.
People respond to positives more than negatives. The only ones listening and watching, are the people addicted to hate.
This whole blue vs. red thing drives me nuts. I clearly remember when the GOP was depicted as blue and the Dems as red. Then several decades ago the scheming media quietly switched the colors — for obvious reasons. Why did everyone go along with this? Why is it never even mentioned nowadays?
i wouldn’t celebrate just yet....its going to come down to GOTV and the rats are motivated while the GOPe once again seems intent on snatching defeat from the jaws of victory...
I wouldnt count them out. Not till Rosie sings.
I have been predicting for months now that far from a “Democrat, Blue Wave”, the Democrat Party is and has been in a “self-destruct” mode for sometime now. The political suffering that the Democrat Party will under go in the Mid-Term will be massive, devastating and destructive...period.
Sending “Has Been Losers” Obama, Clinton, Biden, etc., out on the hustings to campaign is akin to telling the American people what a smash hit the recent Academy awards failure was. for goodness sakes the Democrats have to keep Obama & Clinton out of sight.
And, what Ted Cruz did to the supposed rising star of the Democrat Party in Texas, Belo O”Rourke in the Texas primary, is overwhelming to say the least. Cruz will beat O’Rourke by over a one million vote victory margin come November. The Democrat game is over before it starts!!!
These are great points, but the GOP traditionally does a poor job getting the message out.
President George W. Bush was “selected not elected”, in Bush v. Gore at SCOTUS.
President Donald J. Trump won because “Russia” hacked the election.
Democrats no longer accept presidential election results, unless they win It’s like their reaction to a coin toss for who carries our flag at the Olympics. The purpose of “Blue Wave” talk is to delegitimize all other elections too. The natural outcome of a loss of confidence in democracy and in governmental legitimacy is going to be ugly. I’d like to say it will not be any worse than the unpleasantness from 1961 to 1965, but even that outcome would take a miraculous stroke of good luck.
The author makes strong points. But...
Last time I looked, Obamacare is still there and the Repubs look like Barney Fife trying to shoot a tin can with his sidearm.
And Fed judge vacancies are getting approved at the pace of a worker preparing an order of fries in an urban McDonalds.
And we’re still spending a boatload of money on useless Fed agencies and social programs.
If the November election messaging is going to be what they are using in the PA special election, I fully expect the Republicans to lose the house....
The Senate is not, and never was in play, they will almost certainly gain significant seats in the midterm there.
Which reminds me if SCOTUS hands down their verdict against mandatory union dues, that will strike a blow against Democrats as well. It could be too late for this election cycle but could weaken the union campaign train for 2020.
