"Libertarians, Trade, Tariff's, and Trump."
Defining Ideas (Hoover Institution) ^ | March 15, 2018 | Professor Richard Epstein

Posted on 03/17/2018 7:27:01 PM PDT by Voption

Richard Epstein contrasts two recent actions by the Trump Administration — the imposition of tariffs on steel and aluminum, and the blocking of a foreign company’s attempts to take over an American tech firm — to demonstrate when national security concerns justify restrictions on trade ... and when they don’t.

Please take your QUACK ECONOMICS CON some where else.

We tried this dumb@ss idea and it de-industiralized the United States. It killed what pulled the United States out of the great depression, win World War II, a Super Power, etc....

It empowered Communist China, who had tariffs, to get everything that is now a threat to us. Thanks to con artist like Professor Richard Epstein.

Destroying all the jobs in the United States and empowering Communist China is NOT a good economic plan. It’s just dumb!

We have tried your plan and it has been a COLOSSAL FAILURE from the start.

NO THANK YOU!

Destroying all the jobs in the United States

5% unemployment is considered full employment. We are currently at 4.1%.

If there are so many jobs in the USA why are so many people desperate to work in restaurants like McDonald's for 8 dollars an hour?

Could it be China destroyed the U.S. electronics industry and other industries? Yes.

Just one city in China makes 90% of the world’s electronics ,proof:
https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2017/11/inside-shenzhen-china-s-gadget-capital/

The USA Has no electronics industry therefore the USA is not even a country anymore much less the world economic power or a country able to fight war. So “free traders” want more of this , to destroy what is left if any other industry in the USA.

These villains like Clinton and Obama have turned the USA once the greatest manufacturing power into a debt overloaded 3rd world country in which we sell hamburgers to each other and each owe $900,000 to China if you add up all the debt the 21 trillion in federal gov debt, state debt, consumer debt etc.

In the USA it would take a decade imo to build the supply chains for a viable electronics industry in order so that we could even make our own electronics needed to sustain a war or our economy ourselves in this century without depending on China.

You think manufacturing know how just can be built over night?

All the supply chains for manufacturing electronics are in China in one city as my link shows :
https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2017/11/inside-shenzhen-china-s-gadget-capital/
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7Jfrzkmzyc

We’re in deep trouble.

If there are so many jobs in America why are so MANY people in the USA willing and desperate to work in restaurant jobs for 8 dollars an hour? Because there aren't any good jobs in the USA.

I see restaurants including fast food joints everywhere in America in every city. In my city it's mostly all restaurants on almost every block. So there are a lot of people willing to work like slaves for 8 dollars an hour.

I worked in a restaurant. It's hell ,dirty, hard work , cooking oil spills over your face and hands burning and scarring .All this for 8 dollars an hour.

Then rent or mortgage is $1000 a month, Houses are $300,000 . Thanks to barack Obama the USA is a 3rd world country.
There is massive widespread poverty crime , in this city mostly caused by immigrants and China imports and government regulations on U.S. businesses.

Most things i look at i see “made in China” .

All this is from years ,decades of my personal experience. This is confirmed with the links i showed and many other research online.

If you add up all the debt the federal 21 trillion, state debt, consumer debt , etc. every American’s share is $900,000 owed to China

The USA was the top economy and manufacturing power all the way until the 1990’s until the USA started “free trading” with China and NAFTA (Clinton).

The city i live in is a hell hole ,poverty, crime, immigrants , everything i buy made in china, jobs only in restaurants for 8 dollars an hour

The USA was on top of the world until the late 1990’s , the most affluent society, most opportunity , highest living standards.

Bill clinton started the decline.

” everything i buy made in china, jobs only in restaurants for 8 dollars an hour.”

Don’t forget the jobs at the Nail Salons nestled in the bottom corner offices of giant abandoned factories.
