Democrat pollsters are closing in on gullible candidates with visions sugar plums dancing over head

It is no secret that money is tight on the Democrat side. Consequently, while there will be many candidates that will be able to hire top shelf consultants, there won’t be as many as could be expected in the first mid-term elections of a Republican Administration.

What this means is that consultants who work for Democrats will have to WoW their potential clients with tales of a Blue Wave whether or not they believe what they are saying. There would be no advantage to a Frank Luntz or a Charlie Cook to admit that the problems their clients will face are deep wide and continuous. So it is not surprising that those who profited by getting everything wrong about the Trump victory in 2016 are now doubling down on their predictions of a Speakership in Nancy Pelosi’s future.

I have worked in candidate’s war rooms. I have seen consultants lie to candidates about the progress of a campaign to keep those monthly checks coming. I can make an educated guess about what is being said behind closed doors in Donkeyland.

Currently these vultures are telling their clients they will overcome all obstacles to their success because traditionally the party in the White house loses seats in the first mid-term following his inauguration. Of course in election tradition a candidate like Donald Trump could never be elected President of the United States; but certainly that is never brought up.

So what are the insurmountable obstacles facing these Democrat lambs as they stroll toward their slaughter?

There are more than you think.

The Democrats are on record as promising to raise taxes. This has been tried before; by a Democrat of course. In 1984 Democrat presidential nominee Walter Mondale promised to raise taxes and he lost 49 states.

The Democrats are on record as promising to repeal the Second Amendment and thus start confiscating American citizens’ guns. In the past the Democrats have hidden this intention, but notwithstanding the sugar plums Larry Sabato insists are dancing in his dreams, the Democrats are now sufficiently frightened of a Red Tidal Wave that they are willing to rip off their masks and speak honestly about their true intentions. They have descended to a point where they are begging their craziest of crazies to come out and vote them back into power so that together they can confiscate our guns and “make America safe again.”

For the same reason – outright terror - the Democrats are on record as promising to impeach President Donald Trump when they retake the House and Senate. The implication here is that they will make up something if there is no crime to charge Trump with. Currently Trump has a 51% approval rating which will fall and rise at various points along the way to November; but promising to impeach a president with even a 45% approval is political suicide.

Democrats are calling for the practical erasure of America’s southern border and the dissolution of ICE which flies in the face of the demands of voters to tighten not loosen the borders. The caravan of Central American future Democrats, intent upon breaking into our country is driving America’s demands for border security higher and higher. Americans will no longer settle for “comprehensive immigration reform.” We know that is a lie to make us go away. We want the border slammed shut.

Democrats’ solid grip on Black voters is not tight enough.

They now feel it necessary to fire up Black voters. No matter what the, “thumb on the scale” exit polls from CNN say, the Democrats are having trouble getting Blacks back onto their voter plantation. Democrats have begun to talk about Slave Reparations which will further highlight Democrats avowed hatred for White middle class Americans, a group that voted in massive numbers for Republican Donald Trump.

Consider the CNN exit poll taken on Election Day 2016. Miraculously it found that in every single state Trump got just 6% of the Afro-American vote which was the exact same percentage CNN attributed to him nationally. In other words they either never bothered to poll Blacks; or more likely they did poll Blacks and were too frightened to accurately report the results. In 2016, 50,000 fewer votes came out of the all Black Democrat City of Detroit. All of them could rightly be called Democrat votes and the lack of enthusiasm to vote Democrat among Detroit Blacks was very likely in line with the sentiments of Blacks in other large Michigan cities which led to Trump’s historic victory there.

Then there is the carefully underreported statement from Cardinal Timothy Dolan the bishop of the Archdiocese of New York. The Cardinal who is the acknowledged leader of the Catholic Church in America has made the astonishingly frank statement that, “The Democrats have turned their back on American Catholics.” This is a signal that America’s Catholic leaders have finally recognized the hatred Democrats have for Catholic teachings that those of us in the pews on Sunday figured out a long time ago.

In 2016 Catholics made up 22% of all voters. Catholics voted 52/45 for Trump; but more than this, adherent Catholics – those who attend mass each week- voted 60/40 for Trump. With these numbers as a starting point, Cardinal Dolan’s statement will be a serious blow to Democrats in many districts outside of the Beltway.

There are lots of other problems Democrats will have to overcome; but the bundle of woes they face is tied up in a gloomy report from the very liberal Brennan Center for Justice. BCJ projects that Democrats will have to win the national popular vote by 11 points to win the seats needed to make San Fran Nan the Speaker of the House once again. Current generic surveys show Democrats, who once led in this measurement by 20 points, now lead by as little as one point given the acknowledged four point built in edge Democrats always have in these polls.

“Blue Wave?” Nah, not this year and with the citizenship question on the census maybe not for a very long time.

Yes they are telling these fairy tales to make us feel less enthusiastic about voting, but they are also trying to snag gullible clients in a very tough market for Democrat consultants.

Law abiding firearms owners, this should be more than enough motivation to show up to vote.

Democrat billionaires don’t give to ‘the party’ because they’re so full of themselves they wan to ‘BE THE PARTY’... RUN THE SHOW, PULL THE STRINGS.

Democrat thugs have plenty of money... it’s concentrated in the very wealthy who inherited their money and Hollywood lowlife rapists...

Sorry, but this article is preaching to the choir...

Republicans are going to lose the house this fall..... No it won’t be a 50 or 60 seat wave, but dems are going to handily get the 22 or 23 seats they need to take control...

Sad thing is, its wholly preventable, but its going to happen.

The entire GOP ecosphere doesn’t get 2016. If they are planning on the messaging they used in PA-18 and elsewhere for the fall, they are going to lose a lot of ping and purple districts they should easily win. They are going up against a motivated Trump Hating wall.. that is going to show up and vote.. they are going to crawl over glass to vote.

IN Deep red districts, this won’t matter... as a relatively complacent and tired old hackneyed R campaign will still get enough R votes to win... but in purple and pink districts, places where the not traditional MAGA voter, and the less “radical” republican voters need to show up... they aren’t going to with the messaging the GOP has relying on. Same old tired rhetoric for the last 15 years that didn’t get these folks to show up before, and sure aren’t going to get them to show up now.

GOP is going to handily lose 23 or more seats, with large numbers coming from the upper midwest that Trump showed them how to win... why? because they are whole sale ignoring 2016.

GOP will still gain many Senate seats, but if they stick to the same old tired messaging they have used for the last 15 or 20 years like they used in PA-18, they will handily lose the house.

My prediction?

Republicans will gain at leas 10 seats. Possibly 20. And their majority will be maintained for at least 10 more years, unless they screw up royally.

In the senate, they will easily gain 10 seats, and could be 15 total gain.

The reason? Democrats have NOTHING to run on, unless people wish to roll back taxes and lose their jobs and send businesses and jobs overseas again. The gun issue? Not too many people are concerned enough to make that a major issue.

So, democrats can only lie about how things are awful and how they’re gonna fix things.

This is a fact free gloom balloon. Tell me why people will vote to raise their own taxes, why they would vote to repeal the Second Amendment, why they would vote to impeach Trump and why they would forget that as White middle class the Democrats hate us?

Pleas get some facts or keep your gloom.

I have asked Liberals this. They never give a straight answer and vote exclusively on feelings and a single issue such as hating Trump, abortion or immigration. In many cases they vote liberal like children: "just because". The DNC will passionately turn out, cheat, lie and steal to win. The most gullible voters are liberals who are triggered by hot button topics.

I am not offering gloom. I am offering an honest assessment, just like I told everyone Trump was going to handily win the nomination and the White House very early as well.

Here’s the pragmatic reality.

Dems and Trump haters are going to turn out and vote, they are going to crawl over broken glass to vote. So the Dems are going to get high relative turn outs EVERYWHERE. Doesn’t matter what the Dems say or do they are going to turn out to pull the D lever.

high D turnout won’t affect races that are solid R.. GOP can run the same old tired rhetoric they have run on for decades and still get more than enough votes to win... even if R turnout is light.

However in traditionally pink and purple districts, this high D turnout means R’s have to motivate high relative turnout as well, and I can tell you first hand if the messaging they plan to use this fall is the same they used in PA 18, they won’t get it. Period.

Trump won many of these districts in 2016 by appealing to the non traditional MAGA voter. These are people who aren’t going to be motivated to show up just because every R PAC on the planet is calling the D names and issuing the same tired talking points that didn’t get those folks to vote R for the last 20 years.

The GOP ecosphere is utterly incompetent, they don’t understand the electorate at all.

PA 18 should have never been closer than an 8 point win for the R yet they lost... incompetent messaging let 50K+ voted on the table for even a weak R election. mid terms are going to be a bloody mess for R’s if they don’t change their messaging and come to understand why Trump won.

There are 40 districts in Pa MI and Wi alone and I can easily see D’s gaining 10+ in those states alone come Election Day. And easily 12-13 more purple/pink districts throughout the rest of the country.

It won’t be a blood bath, but unless the GOP changes its strategy from the one it’s been using they are going to lose the house

I’ve been saying it since before PA-18 actually went to the voting booth. The GOP messaging is TERRIBLE.. not once did they even try to talk to let alone motivate the non traditional MAGA voter to show up. Just red meat for the hard core base, and that’s NOT GOING TO CUT IT!!!

D’s are motivated, they are going to turn out.... GOP thinks they can run the same tired message and campaigns they have been running for 20 years they are going to lose a lot of places. Won’t be the a 1994 or a 2010, but they will easily lose enough to lose the house.

This republicans SHOULD easily hold the house, but based on what they have been doing they are going to BLOW IT.

“Tell me why people will vote to raise their own taxes, why they would vote to repeal the Second Amendment, why they would vote to impeach Trump and why they would forget that as White middle class the Democrats hate us?”

Because Dem candidates will deny their real agenda and Rep candidates are too stupid to mention Dems always vote lockstep with Pelosi. Look no further than recent elections. Republicans should be preaching daily that all Dems are required to vote as one regardless of campaign promises. But they won’t. I also believe Rep will lose....purposely.

When you have low turnout, the extreme views are over represented.. and the Dems will have spent nearly 2.5 years telling those that will listen Trump is the Anti Christ... they are not going to show up to vote on any issue, they are going to show up just to vote against Trump.

They may be an overall minority, but they will be overrepresented due to low turnout.. and as I said GOP messaging is going to ensure low turnout.. They are blowing this.

If they don’t change their tune and quickly they will lose 22 or 23 or whatever the magic number is, and lose the house.

Wow. You are smoking some heavy duty weed.

Never got close to the "weed"; in fact, never even held anything in my hands related to the stuff. In fact, I don't drink either, and I've never done drugs of any kind, other than what is prescribed by a doctor. So, arrest your suspicions at the door immediately.

Then, I'm one of the first that predicted a Trump win in 2016, even before the primaries were over. I wasn't wrong then, and I stand with my 2018 predictions. Democrats have nothing to run on, and people are not just going to throw away the progress made in the last 2 years (2 years by the time the election comes around).

But, if you believe that democrats have something to make them a better choice in this coming election, then, please explain how that is. And, no, the idea that in the mid-term elections the party out of power always gains, is a poor excuse for why democrats should win. And, oh, btw, this is a very different president in Washington, which means that "normal expectations" don't apply.

They are doing what the tea party did in 2010.

The tea party had the right issues for their side, while liberals don't have anything that they can compare to Obamacare back in 2010, or even lately. The only issue I can thing of that they can try to use, is the Trump tax cuts, but, that's a losing issue for their side. Otherwise, they have nothing, and "energy" alone is not how one wins an election.
