Just get an engineering degree from any quality university and you will do fine, man or woman. Note that if you are in one of the minority groups, you barely even have to interview. Most times they will hire you on the spot. White males generally have to go through a 8 hour interview conducted by a panel.

I had 15 years.
Then I quit to have my son.
Starting some 5 years later, lots of damn on-line applications, some interviews including my old company, of varying intensity, and ZERO job offers.
Yeah, that worked real well, being a woman. Got me the interviews maybe, but not the job.

Quality University, study hard, get the best grades you can and forget about any language and social nonsense classes.
Right now if you can spell software, you can find a job.
