Mittelstand guns: Made in Germany, fired in America (Built-in European bias)
Handelsblatt Global ^ | May 11, 2018 | John Blau and Tim Rahmann

Mowing down school kids, concertgoers and other innocent people is a quintessentially American homicidal tradition that annually devours more lives than terrorism. For many of the sick, angry assailants, the weapon of choice is a military-style, semi-automatic assault rifle, purchased over the counter and made in Germany, where such assault-type weapons are banned for civilian use.

German gunmakers Heckler & Koch and Sig Sauer are major suppliers of semi-automatic assault rifles designed to rapidly fire ammunition that can kill or maim people. While their primary customers for these guns are armies, the firms have also tapped into lucrative markets in the civilian sector, especially in gun-obsessed America.

“It’s a masterpiece,” said Miguel Conforto, holding an assault rifle manufactured by Heckler & Koch, which is based in Oberndorf in southwestern Germany. “It’s one of the best.” The US Army veteran took off two days of work to attend a recent gun show in San Antonia, Texas. He is one of many Americans fascinated by the semi-automatic “sporting rifles,” as they’re euphemistically called. Big in demand are those made in Germany. “Folks love German engineering ingenuity,” Tom Millay, a gun dealer in Inwood, West Virginia, told public broadcaster ARD....

“is a quintessentially American homicidal tradition that annually devours more lives than terrorism. “

Bet the author refuses to admit that the throat slasher, the crowd speed bump maker, and the other deaths via Muslim over there is terrorism.

My German father-in-law used to ask frequently ‘Gibt es keine Männer mehr in deutschland?’ We both knew the answer.

Sounds like more bunk from fake news artists. I want to see their “facts”
I have, however, owned a Sig, and used the H & K 94 at work, and really liked both.

I used to own a HK41 and a HK43, sold them in the late 80’s, wish I never did. great shooters and easy to maintain. The only thing I didn’t like, and I mean the only thing, both guns badly dented the brass on ejection, enough so I didn’t want to risk reloading the casings. Today those sell for $6-9K, I paid around $600 for each of them around 79.

Thank you for letting me read this garbage.

From the article:

Heckler & Koch is building a $23-million gun factory in Columbus, Georgia, to be closer to the US market and under the wing of Donald Trump’s “America First” protectionist program. But its gun sales, paradoxically, have dipped since Mr. Trump moved into the White House. The reason: Because the president is a self-professed friend of the gun lobby and opposed to harsh European-style controls, gun enthusiasts don’t see an urgency to hoard firearms for fear of restrictions.

H&K is building a new factor in Georgia because it is a requirement as part of their contract to supply the USMC with M27 rifles.

Gun sales in March, as measured by NICS background checks, was the second-highest on record. H&K sales may have slumped because of the price of an HK MR556A1, the semi-auto civilian version of their HK416 based M27, retails for over $2,700 in a market full of $500 AR15 clones.

My comment is that they had better keep their guns in Germany to stem the tide of the Mass Murder Express they flooded their streets with.

The greatest Mass Murders in History is, you guessed it, Islam. So they can take their smug SJW attitude to their graves.

Euro-peons really do not understand freedom at a fundamental level.

When it comes to homicidal traditions, America is still light years behind Germany.

Invading your neighbors, murdering millions of school kids, concertgoers and other innocent people is a quintessentially German homicidal tradition. Hypocritical national socialists.

Proud German-American here, but you're absolutely right, Germany has no standing to lecture anyone on "homicidal traditions".

And I would even extend that to the rest of Europe. It's not only the Holocaust, those two World Wars (the first one started for a raft of really stupid reasons) count as well.

Whereas getting mowed down at concerts or run over by trucks at the hands of muslims is a quintessentially European homicidal tradition.

Of course the claim that for many the weapon of choice is an assault rifle is simply false. Assault rifles are very difficult to obtain since they unlike semi automatic rifles like the AR-15 are capable of automatic fire and thus require a class III permit to obtain. You would think a German newspaper would know what an assault rifle is since the term was derived from Sturmgewehr (literally “storm rifle”) which was invented in Germany in 1944.

Semiautomatic rifles are designed to fire one bullet per pull of the trigger. They are not designed to fire any more rapidly than that and are not capable of it. What use someone puts them to.....and the overwhelming majority put them to legitimate purposes as evidenced by the fact that fewer than 400 people per year are killed in the US annually by all rifles combined....is up to each person.

Assault rifles are sold to armies. They are not sold to the public in America. They are illegal and have been illegal since 1934 - before they were even invented. So claims that these guns are sold in America are simply outright lies.
