The nation’s largest non-profit advocate for people over 50 is praising the Trump Administration’s first steps to bring down the costs of prescription drugs.

Leigh Purvis, Director of Health Service Research in the AARP Public Policy Institute said “American Patients First: The Trump Administration Blueprint to Lower Drug Prices and Reduce Out-of-Pocket Costs,” released May 11 by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), is a positive first step to controlling drug costs for everyone, but particularly the elderly. “This is clearly something that President Trump mentioned during the campaign that was something that was resonating with him. We welcome it. And to the extent that it gets to the root price of prescriptions, that’s wonderful.”

The AARP released a response to the president’s speech on prescription drug prices, advocating that solutions must be found to address drug prices set by pharmaceutical companies....

My wife’s oncologist told us about a Pfizer pill. One month’s supply is $11,500. Who can afford that?

I would think that the best way to lower prices is to increase competition and get the insurance companies our of it.

For those with asthma, Advair, is a great drug. It used to cost around $180, while the patent was valid. Patent ran out, obamacare came in, now costs more than double that. Awesome for those that don’t have prescription coverage.

Think about this for a moment, everyday junkies OD on a variety of drugs, after making certain choices. They are given, Narcan, so they can make it to the next level of care for treatment. Hell, now they’re even having, Narcan Parties.

Meanwhile, people all over the country are paying out the nose for EPIPENS and Insulin, for conditions they didn’t wish upon themsleves.

AARP is an odd collection of liberal-thugs and tightly attached to the drug industry. So if they are supporting Trump, it means it’s all rigged up.

True story here.. I was inundated with AARP crap once I turned 50 or 55 (can’t remember the exact timeline) and it went on for a couple years. I sent letters asking them to take me off their mailing list, emailed them to take me off their list, called them to take me off their list and finally filed a complaint with the BBB and said their tactics were harassment and threatening etc.

I received a letter asking me to call them (AARP) I contacted them and they asked me what they could do solve the BBB complaint and I said to take me off any mailing, email or calls list they had and make it permanent. The guy said “this may sound macabre, but if I put you in our system as deceased this will end all of the letters etc”.

I said “Consider me dead and make it happen”.

Took a couple months but everything stopped including all the AARP insurance crap as well.

What arrogant POS the AARP is, that they do not have an unsubscribe feature to their mailings and consider death to be the only reason one would not want them.

They must have cut cards to see whose name would be on the announcement because that person or persons career as a leftist icon is over. No more invites to A list parties.

I have zero use for AARP. Difficult to imagine what’s up with their applauding Trump, maybe these jackasses polling of their members indicates Trump is popular with the retired, so they are putting on a front, while in the meantime, screwing the retired by using their dues to pay for the leftist agenda.
