I’m waiting for the “warehousing doesn’t pay that much” posters. As if Amazon only hires fork lift operators.

“Nothing wrong with the Remote, Telecommuting model!”

I am a digital nomad and I love it. Woke up last week and said to myself I feel like working from the beach this week, and I did. All I need is my cell phone and laptop. If I can get a wifi connection somewhere it’s even better.

Digital nomad here also.

Packed up the camper and now hanging out in New Jersey waiting for the next grandbaby to show up.

The flexibility is awesome.

What little I’ve been able to do was great.

I have to deal with physical side of supporting people and things. Those gigs are out of my league.

Glad they get posted.

They don’t have anyone on staff older than 35.

As I’m told by an insider.

Age discrimination + promoting tax increases for you while paying virtually no taxes. Amazon / Bezos!

I’ve worked as a remote telecommuting employee for 10 years now in the insurance industry as an underwriter. (I’m working right now!) Great flexibility. Salary same as being in the office. No dress code. Total flex hours.

The only downside is the lack of being in the office and being seen makes you somewhat looked over when career opportunities arise. You really have to make sure your name is out there and take that into your own hands.

Yup ... those 10 jobs will likely be filled by guest workers,
male and under 30 because at lower than advertised salaries .. bercause no americans were willing / able to do them.

I think the $5,000 "quitting bonus" is a great idea.

Think about it, most big companies carry a lot of dead weight. Unhappy employees that are only around because they can't afford to quit. So they mope around the office, giving nothing extra and doing just enough not to get fired.

Remember that people who are lazy at work are also likely to be lazy about finding another job! So they just hang around, infecting the rest of the work force with their indifference and apathy. They are just clock punchers, putting in their time and going home.

I would gladly pay $5,000 a head to rid myself of these type of employees.

Depends on the industry. I’ve worked in a manufacturing organization where managers were scattered all over the place and it was a disaster. If the job requires synergy and personal interaction, people need to be under the same roof. Otherwise it’s probably fine, unless we’re talking about trying to manage engineering teams in India or China...

Some of the salaries sound low for the positions. Good luck getting a competent cloud architect for $116K.

If one has a BSEE or computer science degree-look at all the DOD contractors in Huntsville, AL. The cost of living is cheap like a 2000 sq. ft. home in the SE for 200K. Each DOD contractor posts their jobs on their websites.
