Since Dems think Rosanne is racist, will they try to get her to run for Robert Byrd's Senate seat?

Now that so many Democrats are convinced that Roseanne Barr is a racist, will they try to convince her to run for Robert Byrd’s old Senate seat?

In 2005, the Washington Post reported the following:

… a politically ambitious butcher from West Virginia named Bob Byrd recruited 150 of his friends and associates to form a chapter of the Ku Klux Klan. After Byrd had collected the $10 joining fee and $3 charge for a robe and hood from every applicant, the “Grand Dragon” for the mid-Atlantic states came down to tiny Crab Orchard, W.Va., to officially organize the chapter.

Also known as Robert Byrd, that guy later ran for the U.S. Senate as a Democrat from West Virginia, and won. And he kept getting reelected again and again and again.

In 2010, he died while in officer.

If he were still alive and healthy today, he would still be in office.

After he died, Hillary Clinton referred to him as

“my friend and mentor”

You can hear her saying it at the beginning of this video:

Harry Truman was also a member of the Klan. It did not mean the same thing in the 30s as it does now.

I am slightly related to Senator Byrd. A little closer related to the one from Virginia. Byrd was adopted but still kin to the Byrds.

He wasn’t as bad as some of the really hard core leftists but he was bad enough.

Appreciate the post but I’ve never gone for the “dems were Klansmen” (which they were) as a resonant argument for conservatives...it was too long ago. Different times. Rush brings it up from time to time.

Robert Byrd said that he CONTINUED to use the word nigger and defended that by saying there are white niggers too.

I disagree. It’s now on steroids.

One of the things Bush got right was “the soft bigotry of low expectation.” It continues. Anyone who is in their chosen minority group who steps off their plantation gets slammed, major.

I first noticed it with Clarence Thomas. Saw it again with Kanye West. And many times in between.

Robert Byrd was an oddball. He always carried the Black vote. He was also liberal bur every now and then he would do something surprising.

He always carried the Black vote.

Back then they were told which candidates to vote for and they did it. Sort of like today still for some. Imagine any black voter voting for Trump in the 50s or 60s.

There are hardly any Blacks in WV. Then again, Cornelius Calvin Sale, Jr., white trash from North Carolina, made damn sure they didn’t come to his newly-adopted state.

Blacks still voted around 30% for the Presidential candidates from the ‘40s until Nixon in 1960. From 1964 onwards, only around 10% and below.

Democrats were the worst racists ... and when the ‘big flip’ happened they stayed racists and stayed democrat.

They went from ‘blacks can do no right’ to ‘blacks can do no wrong’. Both position damaged the black community. Then for icing the the cake these lowlife democrats turned their hate tactics on Republicans. I lived in the Jim Crow South... I know who these people are... If you trust democrats you’re a fool.
