The real numbers are much worse.
My dad and sister went to the State Fair of Texas and became increasingly alarmed at the bizarre assortment of freaks walking around, including men with their hands in each others’ back pockets. They finally asked what was going on and someone said, “Oh, it’s Gay Day!” Back then, I think it was more outsider organized than a sponsored thing. They left early.
Two funny things: Ty Herndon was playing that day, just as he was trying to deny he was gay following a recent bathroom arrest. And, my sister told a gay guy at her work—the kind of guy you would never know was gay, apparently—about Gay Day and he flipped out. “I hate those kinds of queens! I’d like to have bombed that place!”
The Texas Rangers do have a Faith and Family Day. Probably not long until the poofters demand it cease and become Pride Night #2.
So, it’s really just a game with no importance at all, especially when all the pc stuff is added - why watch at all?

The clubs probably don’t legally have a choice.
Almost any organization meeting certain conditions can get a ‘night’. Clubs advertise for groups to contact them for such events.
Some clubs, like the Cubs with their big ole lesbo owner, are no doubt enthusiastic, but plenty of clubs would rather not.
This culture is in a very bad place.
This is Official Gay Pride Night.
Not a question of ticket groups.
‘Official’ events are also negotiated with outside sponsors. Ticket groups are available any time, and multiple groups for a single game.
They're not leading anything. They're following the mob, with no regard for the damage the lifestyle they're promoting is causing.
