I fear it will take something really terrible for a reaction from the Conservative base. It would take something bloody and awful—like the murder of Trump, his wife or child. Or the killing of a Fox News host, or a new big race riot? Only something that is a real threat to the body politic will pull the Free Republic Pajama Warriors away from the sofa and into the streets. Maybe a fake impeachment of Trump over “Russia” and Nancy P. elevated to the White House after Trump/Pence are impeached and imprisoned—and the Democrats are in power in the House and Senate. The closing of Fox News? It would need to be really bad.
My oldest son was big and never had to fight bullies.
His brother was a small puny looking guy. I remember in his seventh grade Lutheran school a huge fellow student was picking on another seventh grader. My son told him to stop. He did not stop. My puny son bloodied his nose and had him on the ground when the teachers pulled him off of the big guy. My wife had to see the principal. She told him that I had taught our sons to defend others and when they got into a fight, they were to win it. The principal agreed and did not punish my son.
