Fans rejoiced when Fox announced that it was reviving the Tim Allen-led series “Last Man Standing” after ABC canceled it. However, now it’s been revealed that two key cast members won’t be making the jump to a new network in Season 7.
According to Deadline, series regulars Molly Ephraim and Flynn Morrison, who played Mandy and Boyd Baxter respectively on the show, have chosen not to return for Season 7. Mandy is the daughter of Tim Allen’s character while Boyd is his grandson. The series is reportedly in the process of trying to recast both roles for its inevitable return to the small-screen.

Flynn Morrison's role should be easy to be replace.
Kaitlyn Dever's Eve character is at the Air Force Academy so her absence can be explained until Dever can be available.

yeah after season one.
They replaced the actress who played the oldest daughter after the first couple of seasons.

LSM replaced Alexandra Krosney with Amanda Fuller as the eldest daughter after the first season. They also aged Boyd Baxter from two to five and added Flynn Morrison to that role.
Oh yeah. This is a bummer. Mandy was great. This is going to be difficult to recast.
Speaking of the cast members...The big guy who played the boyfriend of middle daughter. I saw a guy who looked just like him in an simulated skin flick. I am not finding his name or photo listed in any of the current cast groups. Does anyone know what his name is, or if he will be returning for the future show?!
I’ll miss Mandy as portrayed by Ms. Ephraim. She was the absolutely classic ditz, but had uncommon street smarts and entrepreneurial instincts...as well as a heart of gold that always shined through in a quiet way. The writing for her character was superb.
Hopefully, they were able to get most of the writing staff back as well.

Are you thinking of Christoph Sanders (Kyle)? He will be back.
None of the guys on this show is big.

Why not just write them out of the series. Just write one daghter out and write another one in. Have Mandy finally go to New York and have her call on the phone every few episodes. Then the wifes “other” brother and wife could be killed in a car accident or something, and they have to raise their God-daughter.
TV writing is easy, folks. The sky is the limit. There is no reason to recast a daughter and have comparisons. Just write her out of the show and if she wants to come back next year, you can write her back onto the show.
I have no clue why she wants to lose the income though. Hollywood jobs don’t grow on trees.
She played a Silicon Valley brainiac in the last few episodes of "Halt and Catch Fire", working with Cameron Howe on her latest game plan. At first, I found it difficult to see Ms. Ephraim in that kind of role, after 6 years of Mandy.
I think you have hit on the reason she decided to not come back. Typecasting. I will miss her on the show. She was funny and HOT!
And, quite the clotheshorse.
