Basically, Hideo Kojima, the creator of Metal Gear, wrote a piece defending The Last Jedi's themes, even praising various elements that were pushed by the SJWs (despite the film being a massive failure especially in China, big enough of one that JJ Abrams managed to infer crassly that the audiences feared women). Probably shouldn't be a surprise, since his Metal Gear games since at least Metal Gear Solid 2 had been admitted by him to be made to questioning America's role in the world, and he infamously had Big Boss and Miller singing praises for Che Guevara in Peace Walker without so much as even discussing the fact that Che was a large part of the reason why the Cuban Missile Crisis got as bad as it did (heck, he even had Cecile actually sing praises for May 1968 in France in the same game at one point, as well as imply that all the women in France, or at least a majority of them, turned out like that, when it was closer to a minority). For the record, in another article, he expressed fear of a right wing emergence in America, and has also implied that he believes morality to be "man made" in yet another article. I'm actually a bit surprised that FreeRepublic didn't cover much on Metal Gear or Kojima, considering his left wing stuff definitely is a threat, especially with his use of history. And as you can probably guess, he adheres to a left-wing view of the world with his remarks of oppressors vs. oppressed being what revolution entails and demanding that kings be toppled.

Also, he repeats the same lie regarding the earlier DPs that they did nothing but wait for their princes to come (the only ones who literally waited for their princes to come were Snow White and Aurora, and to be fair to them, they didn't have a choice since they were in a coma. And besides, even Snow White at least fled the castle and also helped maintain the Dwarves' house, so really, it's only Aurora who literally only waited for their prince to come due to her having very minimal screentime), while praising the feminism of the movie.

I read it. It’s drivel. Everyone knows TLJ failed its fan base. This is just an attempt by the Entertainment Establishment (or maybe the first shot of an offensive) to put lipstick on the pig.

sjw creativity: endless sequels and genderswapping established beloved franchises and getting up in a huff over the predictable backlash.

I enjoyed Snatcher and the early Metal Gear games but in my opinion, Kojima has progressively gotten worse as a story teller.

Too boring to read. Can anyone explain concisely exactly what “reinvention of the hero” means? Sorry to be lazy, but I was never a big Star Wars fan, including when the original came out.

El Rey Sci-Fi Channel had an all-day “Kaiju” run the other day—great because I’m recuperating from a bad back sprain, etc. Godzilla VS everything they could come up with, from the old school to present!
Yeah I know off-topic and waaaay down a different tangent.

Last Jedi? Is this April Fools? Everybody knows only 3 Star Wars movies have ever been made.

A New Hope.
The Empire Strikes Back.
Return of the Jedi.

What is this “Last Jedi” nonsense this article refers to? It can’t be a “Star Wars” movie, since there are only 3 in existence, all made by George Lucas before 1984. Since 1984, there have been no Star Wars movies made. None. Not a single one. Nope. I don’t believe it.

“The film doesn’t waste its breath on bold revolutionary or political declarations”

The author must have missed the last scene.

Methinks your stomach gets upset a little too easily. The Last Jedi was a good movie and I rather enjoyed it, but I'm definitely not seeing any of the stuff Kojima's reading into it in this piece:

1. Democratization? Now that Snoke and Luke are gone (and Leia will be going with Carrie Fisher's death), looks to me like Rey and Ren and that little kid with the broom at the end are the only people shown to have any direct access to that mystical Force thing (which, for all its being based on a lot of real-life Eastern occult religion and philosophy, has always basically been the scotch tape holding the stories together; e.g. it's the reason those storm troopers are all such lousy shots when they're aiming at the heroes). Nobody in the film ever said the Force is now available for everyone to use; Luke merely points out that it doesn't need really any priesthood (such as the Jedi) or practitioners (such as himself) at all to go on operating.

2. Poe kicked to the curb? Looked to me like (for all of his mistakes) he was undergoing a lot of character development and was firmly in command by the end: "What are you looking at me for? Follow him!"

3. Feminism? Rey fails to heed Luke's warnings that things aren't going to go the way she thinks and ends up getting humiliatingly whacked in the head with her own saber and manipulated into helping Kylo Ren overthrow his master and seize the throne. Admiral Holdo is deliberately written to be an obnoxious character who lets her feelings get in the way of getting her job done as part of teaching Poe what not to do as he's learning how to be a responsible leader (and contrary to some of the dumber critiques I've seen, dying your hair weird colors, wearing what looks like an evening gown into battle, and chewing out a subordinate for getting an entire fleet blown up with his insubordination does not make you an SJW). As for the much-despised character Rose, her selfishness likewise contributes to the failure of Finn's missions and stands in stark contrast to his heroic selflessness and noble edification of those around him.

If portraying the men as responsible heroes who learn from their mistakes and the women as selfish, needy, hysterical weaklings who let their personal grudges get in the way of doing their jobs is feminism, I'd hate to see what actual misogyny looks like!

Abrams and Kennedy and Johnson certainly aren't helping their case by lobbing wild accusations of racism/misogyny/whatever at people who didn't like the movie, but a lot of those people in turn aren't helping their case either by lobbing wild accusations at people like me who did like it, and attacking us for pointing out how much of the SJW crap they're professing to see in the movie simply isn't there.

Just saw The Last Jedi for the first time on Netflix this week. It is far and away the worst Stars Wars movie. If fact I’d say it would rival Congo as the absolute worst movie I’ve ever seen.

Bovine excrement posing as a serious analysis! The far-left-wing Rolling Stone is spewing toxic propaganda to muddy the waters around the abject failure of The Last Jedi.
