Police in Scotland have arrested the paragliding protester who was able to get surprisingly close to President Donald Trump on Friday night as the President visited his Turnberry golf resort.
In a statement, Police Scotland said a 55-year-old man has been charged and will appear in Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday.
After the President arrived at his Turnberry resort, the paraglider, a Greenpeace activist, flew by the President with a banner that read, "TRUMP, WELL BELOW PAR #RESIST," and then managed to escape.
Greenpeace tweeted an image of the incident with the caption, "We've just delivered a message to @RealDonaldTrump as he was standing outside his hotel in Turnberry watching....

Flying is Europe is so brutally expensive contraptions like this and their version of Ultralights is a blessing for those that want to commit lift. This Yahoo could damn near FUBAR all that good will between the Governmental agencies and the individuals using said types of flying machines and I am not trying to be around the edge here, but I could see the Euro’s come down on this stuff hard and fast and those sports are over. This dude could ( hopefully not ) have screwed the pooch for a lot of people participating in these types of aviation and suppliers to said sports.

I would think that if it was a suicide bombing , and of course a one way trip, a bomber around 150 lbs could carry about 30-40 lbs of explosive devices and do a lot of damage. -Tom

I’m rather partial to dual 37mm anti-aircraft guns .... target practice would be great - the yahoo could see the tracers headed for him.

They gave to make a sometimes difficult judgement call. Every round fired, especially into the air, may find an unintended target. Presumably, somebody made an instant evaluation of the perceived threat and didn’t fire. I was so impressed by the footage of the agents around Reagan after he was shot. Machine guns out, none of them fired.
I imagine the Greenpeace dupe had multiple laser beam swirling on his torso. What he did was put a big black eye for Greenpeace and the UK. Lucky for Greenpeace that this clown did not fly in the raw. Too bad for the Brits because it showed the world that there was no courage in their security team. Not one of them had the marbles to pull the trigger.
You have no time to think about secondary targets when time is of the essence and the life of President Trump is at stake. If you can’t pull the trigger, you can’t do the job. Go find a desk job.
