John Stossels recent column, Dads Needed, contains some timely, important, but well-knownat least within the Christian conservative communitytruths. Much of the column focuses on the work of author, speaker, and former feminist, Warren Ferrellespecially Ferrells new book "The Boy Crisis"
Along with his recent column, Stossel on Reason recently interviewed Dr. Ferrell. Here Ferrell notes, Men and boys started falling behind when government began subsidizing single mothers. He later adds, It doesnt make a difference whether she [a single mother] needs a man, it makes a difference that her children need a father. Farrell also notes that children without fathers do worse in 70 different areas, and again declares, They are far more likely to be disobedient, delinquent, drop out of school.
[Again] almost none of this is new information
Sadly, libertarians such as Stossel, Neal Boortz, and the like have been complicit in the lefts deceit when it comes to marriage and the family. In spite of the important truths on parenting, marriage, and family that Stossel has recently acknowledged, he was at best silent, and at worst openly hostile to the truth on marriage.
In 2011, Stossel wrote,
As a libertarian, I think all consenting adults who want to commit to a life partner ought to be treated the same way
If they redefine marriage to include gays, that doesn't diminish my marriage. And if kids are taught that gay marriage is OK, so what?... I don't care if there are three fathers and six mothers. If its a stable relationship and the kids are connected with their parents, that's great
Sorry, but I still dont see what divorce and unwed motherhood have to do with gay marriage.

Everyone remember the Dan Quayle/Murphy Brown matter?
And how Dan Quayle was crucified for allegedly attacking and denigrating single mothers and all that?
Since then , we just aren’t allowed to have debates and discussions about the importance of fathers, or the roles of fathers in raising children.
We aren’t allowed to say boys need a father.
Heck we aren’t allowed to say that girls growing up benefit from a father.
There’s a hell.of a lot we aren’t allowed to say about these subjects, and after Dan Quayle, politicians are scared to say anything.
So we are just supposed to accept that single motherhood, or ad hoc arrangements such as two lesbian mothers are just as beneficial as married couples raising children.
And if you say otherwise, you are attacked as hating single moms, or hating lesbian mothers , or hating welfare mothers, etc. We never get to have a substantive discussion, because political correctness demands that so called haters must be silenced
My older boys used to tease their younger brother by saying, "He throws like he grew up without a father." I told a friend that, and he said his wife had single-mom friends, and it was true... none of the kids could throw worth a darn.
Well, supportive chatter is nice. But relying on the chattering class has not helped conservatism. It took a man who is not an idealogue but who cares about the country and is willing to do what actually works over some egghead theory. Someone with cojones who is willing to actually DO things.
Another pluspoint to Trump is that. the FR is largely purged of its shadow deep staters.
Dan was ahead of the political curve when it came to the family. Sadly, he’s been proven right millions of times over.
Not sure what that has to do with the amoralists that are so prevalent among libertarians, but okay. And the biblical definition of the family is not “egghead theory.” As Mr. Thomas has often put it, it’s one of the oldest truths in the history of humanity.
As a libertarian, I think all consenting adults who want to commit to a life partner ought to be treated the same way”
Why just one partner?
