Kroger is looking to fill more than 600 positions with a statewide hiring event this weekend.
The Michigan-based company said there are a variety of job openings.
Heres how it works: Applicants must apply online at www.jobs.kroger.com or use the mobile apply app from their smartphones, then a candidate can go to any Kroger Aug. 10 and 11 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for an interview. No appointment is necessary, but you must apply online before attending the hiring event.
We offer various career paths for associates and incredible opportunities for advancement. Applying to work at our Michigan Kroger stores is easy with open interviews and candidates ability to apply from anywhere, said Oscar Blaser, human resources manager, The Kroger Co. of Michigan.
The Kroger Co. of Michigan hired 12,078 new associates during 2017.
Could be worth pursuing.
I live about a mile away from my local Kroger in Michigan. I go there 4-5 times a week. Worst bottle and can deposit return machines I’ve ever seen in my life. Been watching the guy who’s responsible for keeping them going. He’s a grade A slacker. Tempted to apply for a job just to fire his ass.
[Worst bottle and can deposit return machines Ive ever seen in my life]
10,000 bottles and cans! 10,000 bottles and cans! At 10 cents a bottle we’re pulling in $500 a man!
A free truck? That totally changes our cost structure!
Strangest post of this young day...
We always have to insert some “Seinfeld” post with any possible lead.
No offense intended.
;)
fwiw, it made me remember the Seinfeld episode about Kramer’s scheme to take returnables from New York to Michigan. Buy ‘em for a nickel, sell ‘em for a dime. It was the quote that threw me off.
The first part is later in the episode where they’re singing in the mail truck.
The second part is earlier in the episode when Newman informs Kramer that he’s signed up for an extra mail truck making the Michigan run.
Kroger is hiring here in Indiana too.
I didn’t even know we had Kroger in this state.
Let me take a wild guess here. It’s retail, therefore, 99% of the new “Associates” will be kept under 40 hours per week. My ex-husband (when we were married in the early 80s) was scheduled 40 hrs a week. The 3rd week (had he worked 40 hrs) he would have automatically became a full-time employee with all the benefits and pay-scale. That 3rd week, as was par for the course, Kroger scheduled him for 38 hours. Due to a store meatcutter’s illness, he had to cover for him. BAM! He had in his 3rd week at 40 hours. Corporate tried to finagle around it by saying that he wasn’t SCHEDULED 40 hrs, he only WORKED 40 hours. At that time, the Meatcutters Union held strong and the week I delivered our son, was his first week with full benefits. Talk about cutting it close to the wire!
