It seems like a lifetime in a dark cave, but I'm finally online from home again. My old computer (which was brand new at the beginning of last year) apparently couldn't be fixed. They sold me a used but better computer and put all my stuff on it besides.
It's so good to be back. Hopefully this time it will last a while.

I have resorted to having a back-up computer.
It has been very helpful a couple of times.
I use the Linux operating system on a New Universal Computer (NUC).

Congratulations and welcome back.
I got addicted to the internet 16 years ago and virtually manage most of my life around my computer.
BTW, I have been extremely fortunate enough to have gifted to me both of my desk tops from a dear family friend. She realized that it was becoming increasingly difficult for me to travel to my local libraries and I am eternally grateful to her for her kindness!!

No, the ambulance took us to nearby hospitals who had podiatrists on duty. Then they assigned us to two different nursing homes as well, because of insurance. We didn’t see each other for months and I missed my father-in-law’s funeral (he happened to pass away in my wife’s hospital) so it was a low point in my life.
