KYL APPOINTMENT: Gov. Ducey is Just Like The Rest of Them

Posted on 09/05/2018 6:42:38 AM PDT by DIRTYSECRET

Kyl is 76. He can quit in January AFTER Ducy is re-elected. Then he appoints someone else and there will be nothing we can do no matter who he appoints. He's taking the easy way out. The only thing he's concerned about is November. Cowardly. In 2022 he can go for McCains seat. If the seat is lost in 2020 it will be his fault. What newcomer wants to run in 2020 only to run again 2 years later? The fix is in.

I wish we had more Trump’s or other outsiders in office.

All you people who are not from Arizona really don’t know what you’re talking about.

We got out of it without another McCain in the seat, and Kyl is a big upgrade from the guy in the box. You won’t find me complaining.

Has Kyl been sworn in yet?

I believe Kyl has already said that he will only serve for a few months. Another special election next year. Who knows? McSally, Ward, and Arpiao may be doing it all over again next year.

Or he can be setting up the person who will seek the Rep nomination in 2020 by giving them a leg up with their appointment in January 2019. That person will essentially be the incumbent having served almost two years in the position.

Kyl has no interest in serving out McCain’s term, but he is a safe, reliable choice and will vote for Kavanaugh and other Trump agenda items. For once, the GOP is doing the smart thing politically.

I caught an interview with Fred “The Beatle” Barnes on WMAL this morning.

Freddy mentioned, on immigration, Kyl is MUCH closer to McTraitor than to Trump.

Will he have to play it somewhat straight in hope he could get elected in two years?

I suppose that’s one way to look at it. Another might be that they wanted someone with experience to fill the seat at least until January who will vote with the republicans and President Trump.

A lot can change after the midterms. Hopefully not but it can’t be ruled out so Kyl is a good choice for a place holder. It also allows for more time to find a good long-term person who is electable in the 2020 election which is when McLame’s replacement will have to run to hold the seat.

Let’s just see how the midterms play out for the entire country. Arizona is 1/50th of the big picture. Yes, they say all politics is local, but there’s still that larger mosaic to consider.

Electable in 2020? Kyl is not that person so there is no incumbency advantage applied.

Thank you for that!!

You’re right those looking from the outside have no clue!

Kyl is a good guy and he is a conservative and a true gentleman.

There’s more. Ducy loses in November and Kyl croaks in January. Then what?

Kill me now. All three suck. Isn't Sarah a resident in AZ now?
