President Trump has instructed Attorney General Jeff Sessions to launch a full investigation into the anonymous "deep state" operative behind the critical NY Times op-ed, citing "national security" concerns. The author claims to be part of an anti-Trump "resistance" group and is believed to be a senior White House official.

Ha! Ha! You are so funny. /s
But I don’t think you (or I) have any idea of what Jeff Session is or is not doing.
We just recently learned that there has been a secret Grand Jury investigating one of the swamp creatures.
Could there be other investigations going on that we don’t know about? Yes.
So yuck it up while you can because the yolk may be on you when this is all over.
I heard him say that - it didn’t sound like a direct order to Sessions. More like a ‘well d’uh’ obvious comment of what Sessions should be doing.
“So yuck it up while you can because the yolk may be on you when this is all over.”
I will never be so happy to be wrong for having bad thoughts about Sessions .
My first thought was that the NYT made the whole thing up. There is no one. It’s the ultimate false flag operation.
He has to order Sessions to do it otherwise...nothing.
At this point Sessions is going to have to come up with a YUGE load of meaningful actions to overcome his ~18 months of perfidy.
What about the theory that it originated at USC and found its way to the NYT, who then published it, fraudulently?
Sort of an Operation Chaos...agitprop.
I thought the same thing. The source is anonymous but it’s all being taken as gospel when it literally could have been pulled out of thin air. Something doesn’t seem right with it.
Yes. That one grand jury is nothing but part of a giant slow-roll.
I’ll gladly accept the yolk when sentences are order and
significant people go to jail.
When it’s the NYT it’s always a good bet they’re lying.
Ill be happy to be wrong about Sessions. I really will be.
But Ive seen no evidence yet. Not one single indictment in almost 2 years.
A first year Law student would be able to secure several, and theyd stick.
So Im not buying the whole 3D chess malarkey.

The groupthink dogma is strong in your post
However, they'll probably find another dozen or so Republican congressmen with questionable campaign finance spending during the course of their investigations.

Bingo. Because if Trump actually GAVE an order to Sessions and he didn’t follow it, Trump would have grounds to fire him.
Why he doesn’t do this is completely beyond me because I don’t believe for a SECOND that Sessions is an honorable man, working behind the scenes to bring these criminals to justice. Two years is quite long enough to show SOME sign that this is taking place. Now, no one with any sanity has ANY faith in our “justice” system - and Jeff Sessions is mostly responsible for that.
Yep.
All those sealed indictments that DOJ Trump-haters have been filing are for Trump associates and supporters.
When was the best time in the past two years to go on the offensive?
Just after the election? Just after being sworn in? When?
Two years ago few knew just how corrupt the DOJ, FBI and the CIA were.
Two years ago the media was pushing a false narrative. President Trump had no successes yet (and now we also know some on his staff and some in the administration were actively working against him).
If the Attorney General would have started against anyone the media would have stepped in and used it against President Trump.
In the balance of power, two years ago, the Democrats had is all.
It has taken all this time for President Trump to slowly gain power and to weaken the left.
The Mueller investigation itself has exposed more wrong doing (from the corrupt swamp)then the AG could have exposed on his own.
The pendulum has swung so that it is now the President that hold all the power. The offensive when it comes will not be a single major bombshell that the media can hide, but more like a series of small hits. An investigation here, a grand jury there until the perception is that the DOJ, FBI and CIA are corrupt and need to be cleaned out.
When public perception is there (and remember, not everyone knows what we here on FreeRepublic know) then it will be time to go after the criminals.
