So according to the media this dropout is smarter than a Harvard & Yale educated judge. Give me a break!

Much more fun with a non specific handgun at 1600 ft. 1500, no sweat. 1600 a little more of a challenge.

It's remarkable how low IQ the most recent set of Marxist fronts are: MadMax, Cortex, Hogg ...

There was a time when you would disagree and see the logical problem with a lefty argument but wince knowing that 45% of America would buy an argument that was at least disguised as logic -> i.e. sophistry.

But these just seem to twitsplain things like "four divided by barn catches blue, so there! Vote for gun control / racial spoils / marxism", i.e. not even logic with a flaw ... just plain old nonsense ... like the random scratching sounds emanating from a mouse chewing at something inside a wall in your house.

Yes, I have one of those, speaking of sequitors and non-sequitors. In order to make some good come out of Hogg's grunting and snorting -> I am of a eastern bent and don't kill things when not necessary but since my cat often does I will follow suit if necessary. Does anyone know a good way to deport the little illegal alien, and if not deport, then gently send him into that good night, and if not gently, then splatter his guts all about the place but with one cleaning end the intermittent scratching and chewing sounds that so resemble the noises passing for thought that come from Hogg, Cortex and Madmax to us through Twitter and other medium?

Thank you in advance :-)

[[David Hogg suggested AR-15s cannot be used for self-defense because they shoot further than handguns. ]]

Yes, because our constitution clearly puts limits on the distances guns can shoot in order to be legally owned-

“doable” isn’t the way to describe it. If you CAN’T do it, you’re rocking a SBR or simply can’t shoot. It’s pretty easy, and I have picked off 2 coyotes and several hogs at comparable distances, plus a 6 pointer at 460~ with a British no.4 mk1 .303. an 80 year old rifle.

These are not even very long ranges. These are intermediate. LONG range is about 900 and up.

I know more than one local shooter(s) that can nail that shot with an AR-15.

Hogg boy is right. The effective range of an ar15 approx 500-600 yds. The effective range of a handgun is much less.

It’s not shoot “further”.
It’s shoot “farther”.

It makes no difference if your forehead or heart is pierced by a 9 MM fired from a pistol, or a .223 Rem. fired from an AR-15.

You are just as dead.

Almost all shootings in a mass killing are fired at close range, so the question is aiming, not barrel length, and the rate of fire is still one per trigger squeeze, which can happen really fast with a semi-automatic.

Most such shootings are reliant on throwing a lot of lead into the air at once, with little regard to aim or accuracy, and just randomly striking a living target, sometimes only wounding rather than an outright kill.

The wounds can be deadly, if help cannot be gotten to the victim very quickly. Covering fire from a perpetrator tends to keep the rescuers away from the victim of the shooting, so immediate attention may not be practical.

A well-thought-out course of instruction in how to avoid, evade, escape or confront the active shooter should be part of EVERY child’s primary school curriculum, starting with simple familiarization in the early grades, and almost certainly into the finer points by time of graduation from high school. And additional instructions of how to give first aid in a gunshot wound would be useful until the first responders can get to the victims of such a shooting.

Yep. 500 yard line with open sights is required for basic USMC qualification.

On the 500 line we used the “dog target” (silhouette) so it was easier than the “able” target.

My eyes aren't as good as they were in 1974 but I bet I could still do it.
