Alex Jones Was Only Phase 1 Of The PLAN – It Is Really About You And Me – Being Speechless.

Posted on 09/09/2018 6:01:58 AM PDT by davikkm

We have been witnessing the attempts to silence conservative voices and alternative media, so it was no surprise that Alex Jones and InfoWars were shut down by Apple, Facebook and YouTube in an orchestrated attack.

That reminds me, there was an orchestrated on Conservatives when the Democrats decided to disrupt the confirmation hearing of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court – the highest body of law in the land.

The latest news in the Alex Jones’ saga is Alex expresses thanks for the censoring as his newsletter subscriptions saw 5.6 million new subscribers in just 48 hours. Whoa…this gives me hope.

Alex Jones know the score and the gravity of his suffering, and he is telling his supporters to ‘never surrender’ after the tech giants removed his content, explaining that he’s being made a ‘sacrificial lamb’ for a wider attack on free speech.

Actually legally Twitter and Facebook are working under an exemption from the laws that pertain to publishers.

They also of course owe truth in advertising — and truth to their investors.

And, they are just the tip of the iceberg. Lots of ways such political company managements have to cut off access to, for example, a cloud platform or even a trust certification.

Moreover, you have as it is “social credit scores” controlling thoughts and actions in China, with clear interest in implementing the same here—as much as we will allow.

I really think you have your head in the sand over this threat to freedom and democracy.

The left-wing media outlets are starting to come down on Jordan Peterson like a ton of bricks, the last few days. I think he’s likely to be one of the next in line to be ‘unpersonned’ online.

Would it be acceptable for the phone company to discontinue service to an office of the KKK or the Nazi party because they considered the thoughts of those customers to be abhorrent?

I think that people get worked up over things in the echo chamber.

Look at Facebook. Hardly anyone under 40 uses Facebook that much. At least not in the US. Twitter will be out of business in 5 years. They have the President as their number one user and they still haven’t figured out how to monetize it.

My head is not in the sand. But I appreciate how Twitter and Facebook simply repeat things over and over. Most people—most voters—stopped listening a long time ago.

Exactly. If you must twit or tweet just start a conservative version and ban anyone you don’t like if you want to.

All these articles about Jones who is pretty unlikable to most level headed people. There's plenty of others being affected as well. Here's a small list of well known people/orgs but there's hundreds, if not thousands of conservatives being affected.

It's a private business and they can do what they want right?

The problem is, they're so big and have so much control, they have the ability to shut people out. When CC processors and other services join in, it's more than just a private business choosing who to do business with. I would add Robert Spencer to the list below. None of the below people are raving lunatics spouting conspiracy theories. They're being shut out for speaking some uncomfortable truths. If the left takes control of government again someday, conservatives will be erased from the internet. Of course that might be the least of our worries as they may just try to erase us from existence. But hey, let's not complain. They're private businesses and can do what they want. Let's just sit here and wait to see what happens. The free market will fix things right?

Young Cons: Extremely popular conservative news site and received millions of daily readers during the election. The website received nearly all of its traffic from Facebook. Since 2016 Facebook shut down stories to Young Cons. Each algorithm change meant less traffic for the popular website. YoungCons was blacklisted by Facebook and struggles to maintain readers. The site regularly switches domains to save traffic.

SarahPalin.com: With over 4 million fans one of the popular conservative pages on Facebook until Facebook blocked all traffic to the website. The page was forced to change the domain to save traffic numbers.

Right Wing News: Right Wing News grew to an enormous website in the past few years thanks its popularity on Facebook. In July of 2015, in just a week, the Right Wing News Facebook page reached 133 million people. Because conservatives were sharing content they were interested in, Right Wing News (with 3.6 million Facebook likes ) was driving the same amount of web traffic as some of the biggest newspapers in America. Since the 2016 election Facebook blocked traffic to the website. Owner John Hawkins announced he was shutting down the website in January.

Western Journalism: Newsweek reported that the site has grown from receiving 1,000 page views a day in 2009[3] to more than 1 million during 2016. The website was averaging around 6 million page views a day according to Quantcast during the election. Today it is down to around 500,000 a day. Western Journalism was blacklisted by Facebook.

The Gateway Pundit: TGP was ranked as the 4th most influential conservative news source during the 2016 election. The site in 2016 received nearly a third of its traffic from Facebook. This past weekend Facebook blocked all traffic from recent stories to the website. TGP advertised with Facebook and is another top conservative website blacklisted by the company. TGP is also shadow-banned by Google and frequently attacked and smeared by the liberal media.

President Trump Facebook page: A recent algorithm change has caused President Donald Trump’s engagement on Facebook posts to plummet a whopping 45%. In contrast, Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Bernie Sanders (I-VT) do not appear to have suffered a comparable decline in Facebook engagement, reported Breitbart’s Alum Bokhari.

Independent Journal Review: A massive conservative website based on Facebook audience. The Independent Journal Review (IJR) terminated a number of its employees on Thursday, leaving an unclear future for the millennial-focused conservative website that has recently faced a declining audience. IDF was also shadow-banned and blacklisted.

Breitbart.com: Breitbart was the most influential conservative news source in 2016 with a massive audience. Since the election Breitbart is constantly targeted and smeared by far left operations. Breitbart advertising was targeted by Sleeping Giants and other Soros sites.

InfoWars: Infowars is another dominant conservative site with enormous traffic. After several years of video production and tens of thousands of video YouTube gave Infowars its third strike this week and threatens to shut the YouTube Channel down.

Rightside Broadcasting: This YouTube Channel had millions of views before the election. Since 2016 YouTube has shadow-banned all of their videos. YouTube has classified its videos of President Trump at a rally as hate speech. YouTube has demonetized hundreds of its videos. YouTube hides its videos. Income for the site is down 95% since the election.

Natural News: A very prominent health website and the world’s top source on natural health. The site receives tens of thousands of readers every day. YouTube wiped out over 1,700 videos covering everything from nutrition, natural medicine, history, science and current events.

Prager Report: PragerU, a conservative educational site, is suing Google and its subsidiary YouTube, accusing the video site of censoring its online videos because of their political leanings. YouTube has banned several of its videos including segments on abortion and Islam. Prager U has a massive conservative audience in the millions.

Pamela Geller.com: Pamela is well-known for speaking out against radical Islam. ISIS has threatened to behead her several times. During the election PG had over 100,000 daily views from Facebook. Today Facebook has shut down most of her traffic. Her website suffered serious losses in revenue since the election.

Diamond and Silk: Pro-Trump YouTube sensations have a suit against YouTube. The Trump supporters announced in August 2017 that 95% of their videos have been demonetized on YouTube.

Do the social media companies get benefits from the government? If the answer is “no” then your point is valid. If the answer is yes, then they should not be allowed to do what they are doing.

If they have zero benefits, in terms of tax breaks or any other incentives from the federal government, they can do what they want to who they want. But we both know that is not the case. And they are getting away with it.

This is happening all over the internet to average people. I’ve seen people banned for saying the word tranny, let alone suggesting they’re mentally ill. I’ve seen people complaining about the obnoxious and forced recasting of characters in media as minorities as racism, and pointing out if it was done to black or other minority characters with whites as a racist false equivalency. I’ve seen people banned for “race realism” for making formerly innocuous statements that there’s differences between races. The latter people are often apolitical average joes.

The worst I’ve seen, however, is all of the bootlickers defending this kind of Orwellian censorship because, “free markets bro”, and that 1984 is perfectly acceptable so long as the Thought Police have Google’s logo emblazoned on them. So many people are happy to be slaves, so long as a Corporation is the government’s contractor for Secret Police.

Absolutely corrrect!

But those same companies who exercise editorial powers (aka censorship) cannot at the same time continue to be treated as a “neutral platform” that is exempt from libel laws.

Let them edit/censor all they want, just as any business should be allowed to do, whether it’s allowing conservative speech or baking cakes for queer weddings. Just hold them to the same standards as all other businesses in their industry.

And now that the social media companies have made it clear that they are in the media/news business, that is exactly what Trump is going to do to them. Just wait and see.

I think these platform companies (Google, Facebook, etc) are walking a fine line, whether they know it or not.

They are either common carriers or content providers.

If they are common carriers they have no responsibility for the nature of the content on their sites (posted by customers). They are now treated like common carriers.

If they are content providers they are responsible for all content on their site(s).

When they start taking control of content (banning users), they run the risk of being classified as content providers.

It’s entirely possible that their lawyers are telling them this is merely enforcing their own policy. But the Fed could step in. It’s a dangerous game for them, and they’re pushing the boundaries.

The cell phone companies are more aware of this issue because they replaced a true common carrier, the land line.

Metallica sums it up pretty well

“Eye Of The Beholder”

Do you see what I see?
Truth is an offence
Your silence for your confidence

Do you hear what I hear?
Doors are slamming shut
Limit your imagination, keep you where they must

Do you feel what I feel?
Bittering distress
Who decides what you express?

Do you take what I take?
Endurance is the word
Moving back instead of forward seems to me absurd

Doesn’t matter what you see
Or into it what you read
You can do it your own way
If it’s done just how I say

Independence limited
Freedom of choice
Choice is made for you, my friend
Freedom of speech
Speech is words that they will bend
Freedom with their exception

Do you fear what I fear?
Living properly
Truths to you are lies to me

Do you choose what I choose?
More alternatives
Energy derives from both the plus and negative

Do you need what I need?
Boundaries overthrown
Look inside, to each his own

Do you trust what I trust?
Me, myself and I
Penetrate the smoke screen, I see through the selfish lie

Doesn’t matter what you see
Or into it what you read
You can do it your own way
If it’s done just how I say

Independence limited
Freedom of choice
Choice is made for you, my friend
Freedom of speech
Speech is words that they will bend
Freedom with their exception

Do you know what I know?
Your money and your wealth
Your silence just to hear yourself

Do you want what I want?
Desire not a thing
I hunger after independence, lengthen freedom’s ring

Doesn’t matter what you see
Or into it what you read
You can do it your own way
If it’s done just how I say

Independence limited
Freedom of choice
Choice is made for you, my friend
Freedom of speech
Speech is words that they will bend
Freedom no longer frees you
Doesn’t matter what you see
Or into it what you read
You can do it your own way
If it’s done just how I say

The newspaper is not going to publish your editorial just because you ask.

Twitter and Facebook have no obligation to have me as a customer.

This line of thought puts me in mind of a long-ago (shortly after 9/11/01) discussion about “the MSM”:
>But you don't have to watch or listen to or read journalists you hate. - bleudevil
Tell me something I don't know.

I've made this analogy before, so this will be the condensed version:

Imagine you are a Native American 150 years ago. Imagine you complain to your tribe that the locomotives are making it possible for the Europeans to spread _their_ civilization west and _replace_ your civilization. And imagine one of your own tribe said, "Hey, buddy, if you don't like trains, just don't buy tickets and don't ride on them...”

Do you see my point? We can all choose to "not watch" -- journalists or the media in general. But we _know_ that the vast majority of people are going to be watching this garbage and it will be influencing their thinking/actions. Just as locomotives were the enabling technology (one of them) that made it possible for Europeans to replace the Indians, now media is the enabling technology (one of them) that is making it possible for our civilization to be replaced. <

Problems don't go away just because we close our eyes. (I wish they did, but they don't.) Mark W.

IMHO the solution to the “MSM” problem is to sue the Associated Press into oblivion under the Sherman AntiTrust Act.

I am uncertain about how that applies to Facebook and Twitter. But the case against the AP is IMHO a slam-dunk.

I am not sure you have any right to prevent “most people” from getting their news from the MSM.

I guess you can use the libel laws to sue for information that is false.

The better solution is to build your own communications tool to present “our” version of the truth.

What most people forget is the titles of their local papers (Independent, Democrat, Republican) draws from history where the papers were mouthpieces for their political parties.

The “independent” media that we have today started in the depression. There is no historical foundation for a fair media in this country. If you believe there is any obligation for ANY fair mindedness in our press, you are not aware of the history of the media in the US. (I address the generic ‘you’ not YOU specifically.)

If you don’t like the steam engines, you can blow them up. You can build your own. Either way, the trains were going west.
