German Chancellor Angela Merkel visited the Baltic state of Lithuania on Friday to meet the Lithuanian president and the three Baltic prime ministers to tell them she understood but didnt care about their security concerns and that of the NATO alliance. She insisted the Nord Stream II pipeline makes economic sense and will go forward. The laying of pipeline has already begun in the Baltic Sea.
Germany spends a woefully inadequate amount on its own national defense, preferring to rely on the American taxpayer and their nuclear umbrella.
She also said sanctions will remain on Russia until there is progress in East Ukraine, per the Minsk agreements.

The Germans are shutting down their nuclear power industry for religious reasons (Leftism), so they need to replace the energy.

As I have often said, the only real question left in European history is where to draw the border between Russia and Germany. The Elbe is too far west. Stallingrad is too far east. The rest remains to be determined.
Since Germany no longer has the means or the will to possess the Eastern Baltic area, and since the Old Prussians no longer exist, I presume Russia will prevail in this area.
