If Strange had won the primary, that would have been another vote for Kavanaugh.

If there had been candidates other than O’Donnell, Akin, Mourdock, Angle,... the GOP wouldn’t be begging for votes from Flake, Murkowski etc.

I understand the point about getting real MAGA conservatives rather than Swampers.

But there has to be a minimum level of competence and viability.

Jeff Flake (R-AZ)

Lisa Murkowski (R-AK)

Does it matter. He is the choice. He is emminently qualified. No matter who Trump picked, it would be like this. Just wait until the next one, maybe replacing Ginsberg.

That’s what President Trump did, by the way. He went with logic and reason.

President Trump could throw a dart at that list and we would have a great Supreme Court Justice.

Kavanaugh is a good man, I’ve thought he might be more of a Kennedy than a Scalia but he doesn’t deserve what is happening to him.

Kav is about as clean a candidate as possible.

The left gives us corrupt candidates for the bench but we aren’t supposed to place ANYONE on the bench??

BS. Fight and kick their ass!

Trump endorsed Luther Strange...but the base went a different direction.

How did that work out?

Kavanaugh's name probably came up when Trump was figuring out who to appoint to Scalia's seat.

So he would have gone over Kavanaugh's qualifications twice.

The fact that Gorsuch and Kavanaugh went to the same high school might have been of interest to Trump in a small way.

Anthony Kennedy may have “requested” Trump nominate Kavanaugh.

He’s about as clean and smart as you’re going to get. Why do bitter, nasty sluts get to determine the most important position in the country should be your question.

The other top candidate is a woman, who Trump is saving as a potential Ruth Busby replacement.

Don’t bother second guessing. Any male nominee would have been the subject of an identical accusation. The thugs on the left have had two years to research the names on President Trump’s list. I’m certain they have false charges waiting for each of them. They were too late for Gorsuch, but they won’t make that mistake again. I suspect they have several for each potential nominee, just in case their primary accuser backs down from perjury at the last minute. All they need is one leftist true believer or one accuser open to bribery who might plausibly have crossed the nominee’s path.

I imagine Ford was thrilled when she heard that she won the competition for who got to accuse the nominee.

Yes. But I personally wanted Barrett, who is more rightwing than Kavanaugh. However, she being a woman, i have doubts she could have handled it.

I mean, the leftards would have gone thru ANY HS clasmate of hers and threaten him to come out and say “ she grabbed my a&& in high school”, same playbook like Anita Hill etc.

It doesn’t matter.

It’s an excellent choice.

They should just go ahead and confirm him ASAP.

i dont know, but ease of nomination was probably a factor since they knew it’d be a fight no matter who they put up
