Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell moved last night to file a Cloture Motion, initiating a four-day process that will culminate in a vote to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Fox News’ Chad Pergram explains McConnell filed the motion last night. It will lay over today by rule, and can then be brought up for a Cloture Vote (51 votes required to Invoke Cloture / Cut-off debate.) If that passes a 30-hour clock starts ticking that can then result in a final vote for confirmation sometime Saturday or Sunday.

Pergram says the procedural vote to Invoke Cloture could come as early as 1:01 AM ET Friday. Here's the full rundown on the timetable . . . .

The Senate has such complex rules. Pergram’s series of tweets posted in the blog entry explains the whole thing in detail. I guess it takes about four days to do the entire process. I think we are all ready for this to be over!

Coons is speaking now on Fox. It is apparent what the Dems will leak now. Coons said Durbin referred to him about drinking comments in the FBI report. Now the gambit he used is that he can’t reveal it because it is confidential (in other words, I could tell you, but then i would have to kill you.) So they are going to harp on his drinking when he was a teenager and his anger issues....

It has a clip of Manchin explaining how he sees things... worth the view to see that.

I think there’s a good chance we get Manchin’s vote. His statement that he is looking at Kavanaugh “as an adult, age 22-53” and as a “Dad” is positive.

I predict a Sat vote. He would not file cloture without the vote to confirm.
