My bet is her record sales stats were making her handlers nervous. The trend was not her friend. This is a misguided attempt to goose sales.
Either that or Swift was offered a quid pro quo for her endorsement.
If the latter, TN Dems must be desperate.
I think it is the former. She is aging out of the glory years for a pop star. The 13year olds of today are picking their own thing, not what their older siblings liked. She doesnt have the voice or song writing creativity to hold enough of her fans as they mature and get adults on board to sustain her current level of popularity.
She should be grateful her dad could buy her the people who could launch her career and prep for the small venue circuit.

The trend is a normal digression after releasing 1989, the definitive album of Swift's career, her musical apex. Still, reputation was no bomb by any measure. It was the best-selling album of 2017 and she supported it playing sold-out football stadiums.
There is no business advantage to this move and Swift is smart enough to know this. She won't gain new fans by this. She'll only alienate current fans, particularly in today's angry political climate.
I don't think she's worried about selling albums or tickets anymore.
She made this endorsement the day after her U.S. tour ended. She has six shows left in Australia and Japan and that'll wrap up "Reputation."
She's almost 29 and has been going non-stop since she was a teenager. She's a multi, multi millionaire. As I mentioned above, she's peaked. You don't get to peak twice. U2 never released another Joshua Tree. Bruce never released another Born in the USA. Swift will never release another 1989. Those moments when you are on top of the world only happen once in an artist's career, if ever.
She's almost 29 and she doesn't have children.
My bet is she's going to retire or at least take a hiatus from show business and settle down and raise a family.
Still, why she chose this point in her career to break her longstanding policy of political privacy is curious. Also curiously, she didn't go full-blown "I'm a proud Democrat! Stop Trump!" She singled out two races in her home state of Tennessee and not once in her statement did she mention the words "Democrat" or "Republican."
