Trump Speaks the Truth, Media Goes Nuts, Dog Bites Man

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)

When the President speaks the truth, the fake news media gets a huge case of the vapors.: President Donald Trump (I never tire of typing those three glorious words) had this to say at the formal swearing-in ceremony for new Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh last night:

“On behalf of our nation, I want to apologize to Brett and the entire Kavanaugh family for the terrible pain and suffering you have been forced to endure,” Trump began. “Those who step forward to serve our country deserve a fair and dignified evaluation, not a campaign of political and personal destruction based on lies and deception. What happened to the Kavanaugh family violates every notion of fairness, decency, and due process. In our country, a man or a woman must always be presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.”

Naturally, given that none of our fake news outlets in the national #fakenews establishment media reported on any of the myriad outright lies told by Christine Ford in her smear of Justice Kavanaugh, they all cranked up their outrage machines immediately after the President made his remarks. They must keep up the narrative they’ve established, after all. Some things never change.

This is a learning moment. Many of you who don’t really “get” Donald Trump wonder why he felt the need to make what you perceive to be such “combative” remarks last night, or why he chose to go after Ford’s obvious lying at his rally event in Tennessee last week. Well, to understand why, just observe how the fake news media reacted to it, and how they uniformly covered for Ms. Ford throughout the entire weeks-long process.

Readers of the Campaign Update are extremely smart and oh-so-attractive people, the literal cream at the top of our society’s milkshake. So you are exceedingly well-informed. But millions of other Americans are not so lucky. Tens of millions of our brethren and sistren (if we are allowed to even say that anymore under our new zillion-fake gender rules our fake media have helped establish) are not so lucky. To the extent they consume “news”, these Americans get it from fake places like ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, the New York Times, the Washington Post and other big city newspapers who today get 95% of their content from one of those other outlets or the very biased Associated Press.

Thus, before the President went off on Ms. Ford last week, those millions of Americans had never heard a thing about the massive holes in her testimony or the outright lies she leveled against a man who had been through 6 prior exhaustive FBI background checks without so much as a jaywalking incident showing up on his record. There were still millions of people treading water in that pool of fake media-fed ignorance last night.

So the President had two opportunities during which he was speaking live to at least some portion of the American public, and he took those opportunities to tell the truth to the American people. Which of course is an act that always scandalizes a fake news media establishment whose overriding goal in life is to avoid the truth at all costs in favor of the Democrat Party’s preferred narrative.

Gosh, nobody could’ve seen this one coming…oh, wait…:

David "Beto" Blackmon @GDBlackmon Don't look now, but... https://twitchy.com/gregp-3534/2018/10/08/multiple-pollsters-now-warning-dems-they-may-fall-short-of-winning-the-house/ …

5:50 PM - Oct 8, 2018

Multiple pollsters now warning Dems they may fall short of winning the House Brace for impact.

twitchy.com 1 See David "Beto" Blackmon's other Tweets Twitter Ads info and privacy I’ve gotten quite a few notes again in the past week asking what I’m thinking about the outcome of the midterms. Honestly, my outlook hasn’t changed since January: The Democrats will gain 10-15 net seats in the House, but not get to a majority, and the Republicans will gain 4-5 net seats in the Senate. And right on cue, the same pollsters who were chanting “blue wave, blue wave, blue wave” back in January are now starting to sound the alarm to their favored Democrats that gosh, maybe, just maybe, that might not all be coming about for them.

If this pattern sounds familiar, I refer you back to the 2016 elections, in which we saw the exact same pattern take place.

Because, as we discussed here a few weeks back, neither the media or the pollsters have figured out exactly who the “Trump voters” are, and have real no desire to do so.

Oh, hey, isn’t that the guy the fake news media all told us was getting fired two weeks ago? – Why yes, yes, it was. It was Rod Rosenstein, our perpetually oily Deputy Attorney General, not only still in his job but climbing up the steps to board Air Force One along with Chief of Staff John Kelly. That’s right – the very same John Kelly to whom your fake news media assured you Rosenstein was headed over to the White House to hand his formal resignation (in order to spare himself the indignity of being fired) two weeks ago today.

At an impromptu press conference earlier in the day, President Trump appeared to put to rest any thought that Rosenstein was about to be fired, telling reporters “We actually get along. I’m not making any changes. You’d be the first to know.”

So, what’s going on here? Why is the President seemingly protecting the guy who conspired with James Comey to set their big buddy Robert Mueller up as Special Counsel last year? I think the obvious answer is that the President now has Rosenstein right where he wants him.

Think about it: What has been happening the last few weeks? The systematic winding down of the Mueller investigation. Why is that happening? Well, the obvious answer is that, other than a tax fraud case from a decade ago against Paul Manafort and several process crimes that have nothing to do with the Special Counsel’s supposed focus on the Democrat/media-invented “Russia Collusion” fantasy, there is no “there” there.

But there is a second big answer that is becoming increasingly apparent with each passing day: Rosenstein and Mueller really, really, really, REALLY do not want the FISA-related documents the President ordered to be declassified three weeks ago to be made public. I keep reading some conservative writers speculating that Rosenstein is opposing the declassification effort to “protect the institutions”, i.e., the DOJ and the FBI, which would no doubt be embarrassed by the full revelation of the crimes that were being committed in obtaining those fraudulent FISA warrants to spy on the Trump Campaign, the Trump Transition Team, and the Trump presidency.

But at this point it seems more and more obvious that Rosenstein isn’t just protecting his institutions, he’s protecting himself. After all, he affixed his signature to at least one of those four FISA warrants, a reality that keeps somehow getting lost in the “reporting” that goes on in our fake news media.

At this point, after having the first 21 months of his Administration being held hostage to the dark cloud of all these false allegations, I think President Trump would be perfectly happy to keep Rosenstein in place until Mueller has wrapped up his Spanish Inquisition-style “investigation”, and wait until the mid-term elections have come and gone before taking final action to clean out the participants in the anti-Trump cabal who remain at DOJ and the FBI even today.

So, when the President says that he and Rosenstein “get along” just fine these days, you should believe him. Because when Donald Trump says he’s getting along just fine with someone, that means he’s getting along with that person on his own terms.

You don’t have to believe me on that – you can go read his book.

That is all.

Democrats have proven they are unfit to govern. I propose 2 months of amnesty, during which time any democrat is allowed to quit the party. After that, it’s loss of right to vote or hold office.

I think that is what is going on - below is what Sundance at The Last Refuge thinks & it’s similar to your thoughts & an enjoyable read considering this is what might be the actual scenario these days. The thought of Trump having RR by the short hairs .... aaaah, love it.

Rosie got to ride with Trump on AF1 yesterday - evidently there was a 45 minute talk and Trump seemed very ‘pleased’ with that talk & seemingly enjoyed telling the drooling press that things were going along just fine with RR. It gave me a good laugh, seriously.

BTW, I look forward to your columns .... just the right amount of snarky humor to gild your info/opinions.

Frustrating to us, President Trump’s declassification agreement with Rosenstein, which created the leverage over Mueller, has the downstream consequence of allowing currently corrupt DOJ and FBI officials to continue trying to cover-up the prior schemes. However, again, that doesn’t impact President Trump or the MAGA agenda – that is an institutional issue and the President is okay with a slow-drip reveal through congressional review.

If President Trump needs to fire people down the road, likely after the mid-terms, he will; until then – we wait and watch the slow reveals. Meanwhile, the current corrupt officials within the FBI and DOJ will do everything they can to delay the sunlight on their endeavors. Currently the institutional leadership is hoping for a change in party in control of the House to aid their avoidance.

Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe and James Baker were part of the corrupt DOJ/FBI inside network conspiring to take-down the President. Hence the: “what do you want me to do Andy, wear a wire?” conversation from Rosenstein.

Because Rosenstein either: (a) participated; or (b) was a useful idiot, he put himself into a massive position of compromise. His stewardship over the DAG position (which is more powerful due to AG recusal), has failed massively.

And now there’s the stuff behind the declassification directive (temporarily on hold) which makes DAG Rosenstein look even worse.

Either: (a) Rosenstein is more corrupt; or (b) Rosenstein is more stupid.

So prior reports all had Rod Rosenstein wanting to get out before it got worse. According to the New York Times (Team McCabe) the Deputy AG tried to politely resign five times recently. Once to Don McGahn, twice to John Kelly, and twice to President Trump.

However, the response from the White House echoed president Trump’s priority perspective. The White House effectively saying…. ‘not so fast knucklehead, you willfully made this mess – now clean it the hell up’!!

Forget the media spin on Rod Rosenstein. This is his actual position. President Trump has him cornered. Eighteen months worth of headaches as a result of his: (a) intentional efforts; or (b) ineptitude; because for all things that mattered AG Sessions was recused, and the DAG was in charge.

When you have this much leverage on someone, you don’t want them to quit. You want to use their damaged and tenuous position to your advantage. President Trump is in no hurry to fire Rosenstein (not yet); because the DAG is so weak and President Trump holds all the leverage in the relationship.

Rod Rosenstein knows what he did wrong; and President Trump knows what Rosenstein did wrong. Though it could change based on new discoveries of how far the DAG went along within the soft-coup process, President Trump isn’t likely to let Rosenstein go until everyone else knows what Rosenstein did wrong.

I can imagine the conversation:

“Okay Rod, *YOU* want to quit right? Well, then *YOU* get rid of the Special Counsel *YOU* started, and then *YOU* can quit. Until then, you can feel the stress and endure your reputation being shredded – death by a thousand congressional paper cuts….

….As long as I’ve got to deal with this nonsense, you ain’t going anywhere. You can deal with it right along with me…. And if congress wants to haul your butt up to Capitol Hill and have you explain why you said you’d “wear a wire”etc., then you need to go explain and deal with it…

Oh, and how’s that IG report on FISA abuses coming along?”

Deputy AG Rosenstein is scheduled to testify to congress on October 11th.

“I want to apologize to Brett and the entire Kavanaugh family for the terrible pain and suffering you have been forced to endure,” Trump began....

As my wife and I settled in to the couch to watch the swearing in ceremony, I said to her: “You know what is missing in all of this? A big fat apology to Brett Kavanaugh, and a full mea culpa to his daughters by the Democrats that this entire travesty was 100% dirty politics and nothing more.”

Moments after I said that, our great President was delivering just that - a heartfelt apology, and a reassurance to Kavanaugh’s daughters that he knew, and everyone knew, that their father was a man of the highest character, and the innocent victim of a disgusting attempt at character assassination for political purposes.

Of course, it wasn’t Trump that owed Kavanaugh the apology, or owed his daughters any kind of mea culpa. It was the Democrats, it was some ambulance chasing lawyers, and it was the DNC propaganda ministry, the MSM.

But the fact that President Trump knew what was needed, and stepped up to the plate - brought tears to my eyes. You could see the immediate effect on Brett Kavanaugh’s daughters, his wife, and his parents. Hearing those words from the President must have meant the world to them.

Donald Trump is truly the gift that keeps on giving. I had no idea before 2015 that Donald Trump of all people might become such a strong President, transcending politics, transcending ideology - a true leader and s decent man.

As long as rosenstein is on the payroll, he can’t go out to all of the news outlets and slander the president and get a book deal like comey. He has to keep it all to himself.

Plus he can protect the fisa docs and the dossier and keep all of the internal papers redacted and out of the sunlight, and keep the muller sleepwalk going. If he leaves, all of that is fair game. It’s only a matter of time before that all comes out.

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

Interesting Note:
This has often been attributed to Sun Tzu and sometimes to Niccolò Machiavelli or Petrarch, but there are no published sources yet found which predate its use by “Michael Corleone” in The Godfather Part II (1974), written by Mario Puzo and Francis Ford Coppola: My father taught me many things here — he taught me in this room. He taught me — keep your friends close but your enemies closer.

"I think President Trump ...will wait until the mid-term elections have come and gone before taking final action to clean out the participants in the anti-Trump cabal who remain at DOJ and the FBI even today."

Like many, I now believe that the only reason Trump has not fired Sessions, Rosenweasel, Mueller and others is that it would give democrats and their media allies ammunition for impeachment. If the mid-terms produce a red wave in House elections, effectively nullifying the democrat's ability to impeach, I would not be surprised to see President Trump fire a slew of democrat and anti-Trump operatives in the DOJ, FBI and other departments/agencies.

LET'S PRAY & GET OUT THE VOTE !!

Then the LORD spoke to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Take your rod and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt, over their streams, over their rivers, over their ponds, and over all their pools of water, that they may become (RED) blood. And there shall be (RED) blood throughout all the land of Egypt, .... And Moses and Aaron did so, just as the LORD commanded. So he lifted up the rod and struck the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants. And all the waters that were in the river were turned to (RED) blood ... So there was (RED) blood throughout all the land of Egypt. --Exodus 7:19-25

Way back, maybe August or so, Trump said the Mueller report would specifically and explicitly exonerate him completely of any wrong doing.

I don't remember the exact quote, but he wasn't expecting a weak "we didn't find much" report, he was promising a "this was a total setup" report.
