Today's post is in honor of Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Aaron J. Taylor, who gave his life for our country on this date in 2009. The 27-year-old explosive ordinance technician from Bovey, Minn. was clearing a bridge near Camp Dwyer, Afghanistan, when he was killed by an improvised explosive device. He had previously served in Iraq and was assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 372, Marine Wing Support Group 37, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, I Marine Expeditionary Force.

1861: 1,000 Confederate soldiers land on Florida's Santa Rosa Island and assault Union-held Fort Pickens. The attackers withdraw after the federal guns inflict 90 casualties. Fort Pickens sits across the bay from Naval Air Station Pensacola - the birthplace of Naval aviation - and coastal defense guns were installed at the old fort during World War II.

1940: After USS Nautilus (SS-168) conducts a successful test, Secretary of the Navy William F. Knox approves a plan for 24 submarines to each carry 20,000 gallons of aviation gasoline for refueling seaplanes at sea.

1950: As the U.S. military crosses into North Korea, Pfc. Robert H. Young and his fellow troopers of the 1st Cavalry Division are spearheading an assault. Young is wounded once by an enemy barrage, but he refuses medical treatment and remains on the line. He is wounded a second time, and is awaiting treatment when the enemy threatens to surround the Americans. Young rejoins the action and, from an exposed position, kills five enemy soldiers. He is hit a third time, but remains on the field - directing friendly tanks to destroy enemy gun positions. Young is hit by an enemy mortar blast while he is treating his fellow wounded soldiers, but despite his multiple grievous wounds, he instructs the medics to help the others first.

Pfc. Young will perish from

Words of wisdom from Che: “A revolutionary must become a cold killing machine motivated by pure hate.”

“We will bring the war to the imperialist enemies’ very home, to his places of work and recreation. We must never give him a minute of peace or tranquility. This is a total war to the death.”

“If the nuclear missiles had remained, we would have used them against the very heart of America, including New York City…We will march the path of victory even if it costs millions of atomic victims…We must keep our hatred alive and fan it to paroxysm.”

I’ll never forget the time I was in a Gas Station in Texas. The guy behind the counter was wearing a Che shirt.

I told him he was a hypocrite and an idiot.

You work at a Gas station in Texas and you are wearing a Che shirt.

You might as well be a priest and work at a strip club.

Or is that the Full Metal Jacket Duality of Man dilemma?

Gee.. Sounds exactly like today's Democrat party.

Ahhh, that explains it. I was wondering why the flag was at half staff in Berkeley.

The closest thing to the devil incarnate in his time. I wish kids would be taught how people like him bring misery and not liberation.

There’s a laundromat next to the supermarket in my town. I walked out of the supermarket and saw a bicycle locked to the post outside the laundromat. It was covered in every cliched “coexist” “mother earth” “gummy bear” bumper sticker you can imagine. Rainbow and Panda flags on the handle bars, etc. I was staring at it in awe, when the 50+ year old, junkie-skinny owner walked out of the laundromat wearing a Che t-shirt. I doubled over in laughter, pointing at him. I couldn’t stop myself. He just stood there, sad-face, letting me have my fun. He was awesome.

When I was a teen in the 1970s me and my family visited relatives in England (where my mom is from) and we went to this party in London that a friend of my cousin was holding. It was this guy who claimed he was the one who took the photo by Alberto Korda and made it into the famous tee shirts and posters and he supposedly made a fortune off it. I don’t know if that was the whole story or if it was true, but the guy had those Che posters on his wall and lived in a townhouse in the heart of London, just this mega rich neighborhood and I remember thinking how ironic that he’s living it up as a capitalist on a communists image. But that’s how it always goes doesn’t it? These leftys prop up commies as heroes while they are the biggest capitalist pigs going. Like when I lived in New York city I would see NYU holding anti-capitalism protests. And then I found out NYU owned practically all the real estate around there and when they would buy a new building they would raise the rents of the store owners something like 5000%. That’s what happened to the rock club CBGBs where the Ramones and Blondie got their start. NYU bought it up and raised their rent so high they had to close. How anti-capitalist of them.

What really ticked me off about that mofo is he DELIBERATELY did that to give Castro a sense of victory before he kicked the bucket. And they call Trump a traitor?
