New York Times Live Polling Lays a Big Red Egg

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)

The Winner of our King of Futile Gestures Award this week is…: House Majority Leader and candidate to succeed Paul Ryan as Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced on Tuesday that he is introducing a stand-alone bill that will…drumroll please…fully fund the border wall! Yayyyyy!!!!

Yes, friends, after working hand in glove with Speaker Ryan for almost two full years to repeatedly sandbag President Donald Trump on the wall funding, inventing lame excuse after lame excuse as to why said funding should not be included in one of the gigantic omnibus spending bills congress seems to pass every 3-4 months, Mr. McCarthy is making this big splash in the hopes of fooling GOP voters that it has a chance in hell of becoming law.

Pro tip: It doesn’t.

Oh, if it comes to a vote it’ll pass the house for sure, because it only takes a majority vote there and the Republicans have a strong majority, at least until January. But the senate, where 60 votes would be required and the GOP only has 51 seats? Not a chance.

I like Congressman McCarthy, I really do. Always have. He is an earnest guy and mostly a real conservative. He’s done a lot of “go along to get along” kind of stuff with Ryan just to be the loyal foot-soldier, and we all should understand that. But he knows as well as anyone that the only way to get that border wall funding would be to include it in an omnibus spending bill that also contains stuff the Democrats really want, and have the guts to let the Democrats shut down the government if they want to do so.

A stand-alone bill on this has exactly zero chance of getting through the senate. It’s a futile gesture that mainly serves to highlight just how dishonestly the GOP congressional leadership has dealt with this issue for the past two years.

Oh, well, golly, that didn’t work out the way they’d hoped.: The newsfakers at the New York Times decided recently that it would be a great idea to show everybody how their vaunted “Blue Wave” was shaping up by polling a number of races in the U.S. house and senate and show their demented readers the results in real time. The live polls scheduled for yesterday included the “close” senate races in Texas, Nevada and Tennessee, three races in which GOP incumbents are facing what are considered to be “strong” Democrat challengers, including the media’s favorite Democrat, Irish Bob O’Rourke.

Surely, the Times’ newsfakers no doubt believed, our polling will show the Dems in the lead in at least two of these races. After all, fake polls taken in every one of them had produced results showing the Democrat candidate no worse than tied in each an every one of them as recently as late August.

So what happened? Well, the Times’ poll in Nevada does show the race between Trump-bashing RINO Dean Heller and Democrat Jacky Rosen very close, but with Heller in the lead at 46-45. That was the “good” news for the Times staff.

In Texas, where the Times has repeatedly portrayed Irish Bob as another Kennedy as if that were a good thing, mean ol’ Ted Cruz comes in with a very comfortable 9 point lead of 53-44. If you’ve been following the polls in this race, that 44% level appears to be the point at which Texas voters reach “Peak Beto”, as it were.

Over in Tennessee, it gets even worse for all the newsfakers at the Times, especially since most of them are no doubt huge Taylor Swift fans: In that poll, Republican Marsha Blackburn, who has gained momentum in every poll take there in the last month, holds a whopping 18% lead over her Democrat challenger, ol’ what’s-his-name, at 57-39. Phil Bredesen, that’s his name.

Prior to yesterday, the Times had conducted similar polling in a large number of house races around the country, and again ended up with far more of those “Red” guys and gals leading their favored “Blue” people than the fake newspaper had anticipated. Just so you know I really didn’t make this stuff up, you can see all of those results at this link.

Because, you see, Democrats can only be civil if they win elections. It’s in the constitution or something. – As always the lagging indicator of where her demented and depraved Party has already gone, the Pantsuit Princess decided to go all Maxine Waters in a CNN interview released on Tuesday, calling for an end to “civility” by the Democrats. I’m not kidding – she apparently thinks what we have been seeing from her Party actually is them being “civil.”

“You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about,” Clinton told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour. “That’s why I believe, if we are fortunate enough to win back the House and or the Senate, that’s when civility can start again.”

Yes, for sure. It’s only when we place lunatics like Mad Maxine and the execrable Jerry Nadler as chairmen of congressional committees that we can achieve true civility in our nation. This was in fact Coughing Crook’s way of overtly signaling her approval for heightened violence on our streets from Soros-paid protesters and violent Democrat proxy groups like Antifa, along with the kind of harassment and violence towards Republicans in public place that has been encouraged by Mad Maxine and many other Democrat office-holders.

Of course, the hilarious thing about this is that the Grasping Grifter was just reciting talking points written for by her demented staff, and probably didn’t even understand the implications of what she was saying. It’s been 30 years since the Hacking Hag uttered an unscripted word in public, and you can be sure that this interview is no exception.

This is the reason why she is always behind the direction of her Party instead of setting its tone. Her mode of operation has always been to carefully calibrate everything she says based on the results of polls and focus groups, meaning that her shame rhetoric is unerringly backwards-looking.

That’s not to give her a pass on this endorsement of street violence and ongoing Democrat Party insanity, it’s just to help explain how an obvious, blatant fraud and career criminal like the Fainting Felon can remain popular among her Party’s demented, willfully-ignorant voters three decades after she came onto the national scene.

That is all.

Yes, but it puts these people in the Senate on record with their vote. I think it’s a brilliant move, and it might just pass.

What’s more how can anyone think that an 18% lead in a Senate race in that state isn’t going to translate into ANY kind of a victory down ballot in House races in that same state. It simply defies reason.

Another article demonstrating why “Conservative Inc” has been the politically impotent movement in history.

Instead of getting behind the bill and pushing to achieve a long sough poltical goal, “Conservative Inc” follow its usual SOP to mindless whine and shoot it poltical allies in the back for not doing it faster.

Pathetically stupid article from the usual clowns of pathetic whiners. And they wonder why they been poltical losers their whole lives?

I went to a Trump Rally for Trump in Bloomington, IL in 2016. I was a volunteer behind the scenes. I was amazed at how few advance people were involved.

It was at a local airplane hanger. We set up the security screen, then let people pour in.

Trump arrived by plane, taxied, walked to the podium...spoke off the cuff and left.

Contrast that with, hundreds, I mean the hundreds who were involved with Clinton, plus with what she was going to say, all scripted.

REmember also those awful campaign videos of her’s?

I was referring to the lead in the race for senate in Texas.

But I AGREE wholeheartedly with what you are saying.

And I like it too.

Don’t like that in real time he has been with Ryan the past 2 years in holding it up, though.

But I still agree the vote is a good thing.

I can’t lie.

Well, not here. Everywhere else pretty much yes :)

I just vote straight down ballot R after voting for the main event.

Primaries is where i will do more digging on who believes what.

But under NO scenario, is a D EVER a better pick than our fickle and fearful Rs, sad to say.

And now isn’t the time to be voting on principle for a person who cannot win, under another party.

Yes, but it puts these people in the Senate on record with their vote.

So what? I can tell you right now all of the Republicans will vote for it, and all of the Democrats will vote against it, but since you need 60 votes to close debate the bill will die. And Dem constituents will be happy about the bill dying, and Dem senators perhaps even proud to have their vote on the record.

It’s just that it looks to me like Trump could very well come out of this with a 60 GOP seat Senate. How could there be any Rat victories down ballot in those states? I just have a hunch that in reality there is little chance the Rats even pick up seats in the House.

I agree. It’s all bluster and dreaming.

Reality, like the presidential election night, is what matters.

And the reality will be good for us.

Simply put the Rats in an impossible situation
The American people want the wall. They have a choice either vote for the wall or answer to their constituents.

Ah, thanks for the clarification, Mzz Clinton. Since we can’t be civil to those who want to destroy everything we care about, that means us conservatives/Republicans are free to be uncivil to Leftists everywhere, including you. Cool.

Ditto. It might just give Republicans that 60/40 Senate they need to pass it after the Midterm's. In fact that may have been the plan from day one.

Because the districts are already gerrymandered to maximize Republican victories.
