Facing pressure from Congress to act, President Donald Trump vowed “severe punishment” on Saudi Arabia if it turns out that missing WaPo reporter Jamal Khashoggi was killed in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, as Trump turned up the pressure on the kingdom in an interview to be broadcast Sunday night.
“Nobody knows” whether Saudi officials are involved although they “deny it vehemently,” Trump said in an excerpt of a CBS News “60 Minutes” interview.”It’s being looked at very, very strongly. We would be very upset and angry if that was the case.”
“We’re going to get to the bottom of it, and there will be severe punishment,” the president said, noting that the Saudis denied “in every way you can imagine” having anything to do with Khashoggi’s disappearance when his son-in-law Jared Kushner spoke with Saudi Arabia’s crown prince.

Jamal Khashoggi was not a journalist - he just published a few opinion pieces.
What he was, was a major player in the mafia-style life of the Saudi elite, and a major (perhaps the) leader of the Muslim Brotherhood proponents among the Saudi elite.
His uncle, Adnan Khashoggi was a famous Saudi billionaire in the UK.
Jamal, like his uncle Adnan (who was part of the Iran Contra Affair) was active in Intelligence circles, and was active in advancing the Muslim Brotherhood as a political force. He was an advocate of a Muslim Brotherhood takeover of Saudi Arabia, and many other countries.
He was an enemy of Western culture, and worked his whole adult life to advance sharia in muslim countries and islamization in the rest of the world.
The West as a whole is better off with him dead.
The Crown Prince in Saudi Arabia, Muhammad bin Salman (MBS), is rounding up and clearing out Wahabbis and Muslim Brotherhood leaders and dismantling their infrastructure more quickly than we could. He is effectively unlimited legally in his use of force, although he has abided by traditional tribal practices governing power struggles (giving them a chance to “bend the knee”, sparing the women and children).
Turkey under President Erdigan has become the largest State sponsor of the Muslim Brotherhood (since Obama left office). That is why Jamal went to the Saudi embassy in Turkey, when he had to go to one for legal reasons - to receive protection from that Government. They were obviously providing protection, and closely monitoring his visit. That is why the Turks are raising such a stink - this really threatens the Muslim Brotherhood, and makes it look like they cannot protect them.
I think we know now why he had to die...democrats love Iran!!!!
