There are many gay people that are NOT radical gays pushing their behavior down OUR throats, I really don’t care what ANYONE does in their bedroom as long as they don’t PUSH their sexuality on me!!! There are MANY gay Republicans that don’t wear their sexuality on their sleeves for the entire world to know and see I have NO PROBLEM with them being Republicans AT ALL!!! Log Cabin Republicans are a good organization we need people from ALL walks of life who believe in our constitution and freedoms!!!!

I don’t particularly care what he does in the privacy of his bedroom. What I care about is that he respect the constitution and rule according to the original intent of the Founders.

"We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other."
-- John Adams

I think 2ndDivisionVet had it right. According to our Founders, "homosexual and conservative" would easily fall into oxymoron-ic territory.

is the person CONSERVATIVE? I know the Ambassador to Germany, Richard Grenell, is a homosexual. He also is (apparently) representing TRUMP and not a sexual identity as the ambassador.

I have known at least one good conservative man who practiced homosexuality. They do exist.

Reserving judgement on this nomination.

I am all for agreeing on an issue with anyone who agrees with me on that issue. I understand they may disagree with me on some other issue, but that is actually how intra-party coalitions are built to get a particular bill passed. When we have Conservatives who agree on some fundamentals, like the written Constitution over the so-called “living Constitution”, as most Federalist Society members do, we can accomplish some good actions, even though we may disagree among us on others.

For instance, Scalia’s real main point about abortion, was not a reading of the Constitution that implied a Constitutional mandate AGAINST abortion. He saw, correctly in my view, that the Constitution was void of any mandate on abortion, either pro or con, and for THAT REASON the Supreme Court should not have been involved. It should have remained a state-by-state matter, where the people’s representatives in the state legislatures were free to rule for or against it. THAT did not satisfy many pro-life folks, but it was I believe the view closest to the written Constitution.

Here’s the question -— Will this gay judge UPHOLD religious freedom?

I rather doubt it. Trump has been far too indulgent of the gays to suit my taste, but since he's winning on so many other fronts, I will not make an issue of what I consider to be his wrong headed thinking.

Looks promising :
President Trump’s nominees for the appeals court — litigators Daniel Collins and Kenneth Lee and Assistant United States Attorney Patrick Bumatay — are all based in Southern California, are prominent members of the conservative Federalist Society, and have worked for Republican administrations.
https://www.sacbee.com/latest-news/article219869925.html

... the president announced three highly qualified candidates: Daniel Collins, Kenneth Kiyul Lee, and Patrick Bumatay. Collins, 56, clerked for Justice Antonin Scalia after graduating from Stanford University School of Law. Lee, named in 2014 by the California legal newspaper The Daily Journal one of the state’s “Top 20 Lawyers under 40,” served as an Associate White House Counsel to President George W. Bush.

And Bumatay, a Harvard Law grad, is a former Associate Attorney General of the United States. He’s now Counselor to the Attorney General. He has also been a federal prosecutor.

These men are brilliant. Accomplished. Conservative. All are members of the Federalist Society, sanity’s alternative to the ACLU. And all are relatively young.

For the left, this combination is like a recipe for legal arsenic. People who take the Constitution as a written text with a clear meaning. Who will rule from what’s been the most liberal federal court in the nation? Unthinkable! And the fact that they might stay on that same court for decades? Call for the defibrillator!

Two of these men are of Asian heritage: Bumatay of Filipino background, Lee of Korean. These fine Americans’ ethnicity removes another arrow in the Democrats’ usual quiver of politically-based attacks.

This is one nominee who SHOULD be rejected by the Senate.

What is wrong with Trump?

Trump made a bad decision. We don’t need more mentally ill judges on the 9th circuit. Religious freedom is already disappearing from Oregon, and this gay will just make it worse.
