Disney World Raises Its Prices ... Because It Can

It's going to cost a bit more to park or be a passholder at Disney's (NYSE: DIS) sprawling theme park resort in Florida. Disney World is boosting the parking lot prices at its four theme parks by at least 11%, with the biggest percentage move coming for standard parking -- up 14% to $25 for cars and motorcycles.

Parking has always been included for passholders, but those annual ransoms also went up on Tuesday. Annual passes for the four different tiers are now 3% to 9% higher than they were earlier in the week, with the largest percentage increase for the cheapest Silver pass, which is blacked out during the summer and the seasonally active holiday breaks....

I don't remember what my parents used to pay but I'm sure it was nothing like that. I read that the Star Wars park will cost $1,000 a day and be immersive.

Time to abort Disneyland. They don’t have a monopoly on entertainment or knowledge. Much better things in life to preoccupy your time.

Yay! Stupid sheeple are giving their money away to Disney, Apple, Tesla, etc.

These wonderful family people taking their lovely children for a dream vacation to Disneyworld are helping to fund the coke, meth, and hooker habits of the Hollyweirdos.

Maybe some of that money is even going to sex change operations.

Whoopee!

I’ve never owned an Apple device. The last time I went to a Disney park was 1977. Never had any desire to drive a Tesla or any other glorified golf cart.

Then want to encourage people to stay on property, NOT rent a car, and take the buses to the Parks.

I love it there, but they definitely do everything they can to discourage you from leaving. lol

Never been - hate big crowds and standing in long lines after paying lots of cash for something.

My sister used to live in a sleepy little town in Florida called Orlando. The last time I actually stayed in Orlando was the Christmas time frame when they put the first shovel, ceremonially, in the dirt and started to build Disney World. It was big news and most of the folks in Orlando or not that happy about it. Winter Park was a pristine little ville that had an Old Town feel to it... It was old Florida. I remember it well.

What’s interesting is that if you don’t have cable or any other broadcast television in your home, none of those parks are a big deal. We don’t bother with them.

Of course, I lived in Anaheim in the 60’s so I got my fill. :)

Paying a fortune to family-haters in order for my family to be entertained..?

Sounds like a bad idea.

Considering it will cost the average family of 4 well over $400 just for a day pass, not to mention getting stiffed for memorabilia, one is lucky to get in 4-5 rides during the summer months. Doesn’t sound much like a bargain

This will have a disparate impact on minorities.
Disney is doing this to keep out blacks, hispanics, and single mothers.
RACIST HATERS!.

I expect to see an NPC mob banging on Disney gates any time now. /sarc

This is what is driving higher prices. The park was too crowded and lines were too long. Disney hopes the higher admission prices will alleviate this.

Hmmmmm. Just two months after raising hourly wage to 15 dollars sometime in the future. Coincidence? I think not. Did attendees not think they’d pay for this liberal forced policy?
