Of course to Liberals, the Law only means what it says, unless it doesn't. That's what you call Nuance which I don't remember seeing in the Constitution. We know, however, Nuance is in the Constitution because it isn't.

BTW, this makes us hipocrites too, not just them.

If you don’t like the amended rights, amend them. Obama showed that executive power is a real threat to constitution rights.

I disagree, although there should be a law to clarify the application of the phrase “subject to the jurisdiction thereof” (quoted from memory - forgive me if it’s not exact).

This EO would be a clarification of how to apply the amendment, and is completely within the expressed intent of the people that wrote the amendment. When Obama created DACA, he instructed prosecutors to implicitly created a protected status for kids brought across the border, in contravention of the actual meaning and intent of the law.

By instructing the administrative arms of the government to apply the law as actually written, President Trump is faithfully executing the law - not breaking it.

If he were contravening the actual amendment, then I would agree on the need to be hypocritical to support the move.

That is the correct, and pertinent, phrase.

Illegal aliens are no more “AND subject to the jurisdiction thereof” than an armed invader would be.

Yes, unlike all the others before him, he makes these people come out of the woodwork and expose themselves.

8 years ago, Obama and the other democrats were four square for the wall and closed borders. Now the opposite.

for years, democrats would run on lies. Now their socialistic policies are exposed for what they are.

People with common sense are noticing this, esp young smart people, black and white.

I knew something had changed when I was watching Live at the Apollo one night a few months ago. A young black comic was on stage. Right out of the gate, he starts on Trump. He was booed off so fast your head would spin.

Minorities know they’ve been given jive talk by the democrats for years. Won’t work anymore.

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.

If you’re born in the US, or naturalized, you’re a citizen.

“Subject to jurisdictions” is mostly redundant, but a legalize clarification to make sure that if any jurisdictions of the United States pretty much counts, or in other words, ‘don’t try to exclude certain jurisdictions under this umbrella’

You are dead wrong. The author said what he meant, and it was NOT for people here illegally to confer citizenship upon their children. Frankly, anyone who knows and ignores the history of this amendment is a propagandist for anarchy.

a child born to parents who have not surrendered citizenship in another country or applied to the US for American citizenship are not subject to the jurisdiction of the US

Dual citizenship is a liberal construct
