I enjoyed this presentation as it was very engaging.
At this time, there are few replies on this post. That can always change. There may be few replies now because the first two and a half paragraphs are a very generalized, generic
collection of tropes, non sequiturs ,conclusions and platitudes.
In other words, the article as it appears in the beginning is a tough nut to crack. It’s not at all clear what they’re talking about, going by the topic sentences. If the average poster doesn’t get the essence in the first few statements, the interest to dig deeper may not be there. It’s a lesson I myself have to relearn every so often when I write.
Sounds a bit utopian. Everyone does indeed know right from wrong. But some choose to do wrong by succumbing to one or more of the seven deadly sins. So societies have established the most efficient means of addressing the aggressors. Usually that means establishing a government. The real function of both military and police is to restrain those people from wrongdoing, not to infringe upon the rights of moral people.
One of the founders expressly stated that our Constitution can only succeed among a moral and virtuous people.
It is much more efficient than everyone needing the skills to restrain criminals. The problem with anarchy is that, like communism, it can really only succeed in a hunter-gatherer society.
Whenever people collaborate to achieve things greater than one man can accomplish, those with natural leadership abilities, a vision and organizational skills are necessary to direct the collaborative effort. People who lack those abilities choose to subordinate themselves to some degree to someone or some people who are gifted or able to lead and manage, so that they can contribute those skills and abilities that they do possess and are also necessary to achieve the ends.
It is not slavery if it is a mutual agreement with mutual fair exchange.
The Constitution of the United States of America is probably the single most successful mutual agreement among a people that has ever been developed.
But like any system that does include voluntary acceptance of leadership, people of ill-will are naturally attracted to positions of influence. That is where we are now and that is why we must drain the swamp.
Here is the conundrum. Since not all people are satisfied with what they can achieve or acquire individually, some will always try to steal from others. There is no way to stop them from stealing without stealing from them, their free will. . .which is itself immoral.
Anarchy just like communism can only succeed if all people are perfect. Give me the recipe for that, without infringing on the rights of others and I will be all ears.
