Doesn’t have to happen. We have land that doesn’t make it behind our fences, so we can stage there.

That’s almost 100,000 square miles of territory.

How many troops would that take?

——Our military can engage in a limited action to push into mexico 25-50 miles along the southern border.———

Keep your day job....really bad idea....

You do understand that would be an act of war ?

Given that the Mexican Army has made recent excursions into the US, the creation of a buffer zone south of the border seems more than fair.

Invade Mexico and threaten to shoot rock throwers? Is Trump trying to throw the mid-terms?

That depends on Mexico’s permission.
However, just the option should motovate
Mexico to step in and protect their side of the border.

Where did this idea come from? Has there been a similar situation? If so, what happened there? Was the AIA successful? How about 6-8 months later?

“Our military can engage in a limited action to push into mexico 25-50 miles along the southern border”

Pushing 25-50 miles into Mexico would include invading large cities like Tijuana, Mexicali, Nuevo Laredo, Juarez, and Reynosa.

We would be violating the borders of a sovereign country if our military moves into Mexico.

1. I don’t want to engage in a military action against Mexico. This would be considered an act of war.

2. Pushing 25-50 miles into Mexico isn’t something I would consider a “limited action”.

3. How many troops would it take to push 25-50 miles into Mexico? The US-Mexico border is roughly 1,900 miles long.

4. Even if the military action worked and the invaders couldn’t reach the American border, how would the military handle the millions of Mexicans who live in that 25-50 mile buffer zone in the large border towns? Are they to be displaced? Are they to remain and be watched over?

I would be against such an action. Just build the wall/border system and have the Border Patrol stand guard and patrol with logistical and manpower support from the US Military as needed.

If the CIA was actually working for the POTUS like they were meant to, the leaders and financiers of these border attacks would have had accidents long ago.

The mere threat might be enough for the Mexicans themselves to take care of the problem. Then again a war with Mexico would please the Chinese and Mozlems to no end. They'd be happy to oppose the invasion with men and arms.

I have considered this. It could be a diplomatic option. We tell Mexico, either you control this nonsense, or we create the US Occupied Mexico zone. No negotiations. Get some Mexican skin in the game.

This is exactly what SHOULD happen. On U.S. soil troops are subject to posse comitatus. The second they step foot into Mexico they can possess and hold territory with force if necessary. The Bush Doctrine allows for just that if Mexico control its border.

The US marines pretty much ran Nicaragua from 1912-1933. And we invaded Panama in 1980. Just saying that threatening to turn these failed states back into a single kingdom under King Thomas Sowell might do the trick. ;-)

My first option would be to energize the military’s active denial systems, discussed in earlier threads, as soon as the invaders get within 50 meters of the border. That keeps most of our men out of harm’s way with respect to rocks and bottles. Systems can be aboard hovering helicopters or drones on our edge of the border, giving rapid relocation options.

Live ammo can and should be used against ANYbody who breeches the buffer zone and steps foot on our soil.

A note can be attached to the toe tag on the carcass that says ‘Sorry ‘bout that, Chief” in as many languages as necessary. This IS war, after all.

I’ll keep this simple for you. If your (ridiculous) idea were attempted, Donald Trump would immediately be impeached by a large, bi-partisan majority in both chambers of congress, and the invasion forces would immediately be withdrawn. The USA would look like clowns, and the GOP would lose the White House, Senate and House in a tidal wave in 2020. It would be a political disaster of epic proportion. But, yeah, other than that, a great idea...
