Let Daylight Saving Time Die Already

I would prefer a compromise in which all clocks are set forward 1/2 hour next spring and then kept there permanently, by act of Congress, excluding states that want Daylight Saving Time or Standard Time instead. I love DST, but others love ST.

My solution. During day, add 13 o’clock to afternoon. Adding one hour of daylight at nightfall. At 13:59, clock goes to 1:00 pm. Then, at 10:59 pm, clock goes to 1:00 o’clock am. Still 24 hour day. More daylight. I hate this darkness coming at 5 pm. Not enough daylight to milk cows, slop hogs, and gather eggs from the hen house.

We don’t need DST. Days get longer in the summer naturally.

I hate standard time. I’d like to see DST year round. I don’t like it to get dark at 3:50 in northern states, and 5:00 in southern states.

My dog never appreciated Daylight Savings Time. Either the time change would mean that he would be sound asleep when mom got home and would have have to snap to attention to attempt to greet her properly (usually by decking her). Or, he would have to wait an extra hour until she FINALLY got around to showing up. In both cases, the mutt was damn pissed about the time change.

I say that too! Its too hard on my old bones and my pets get confused about feeding times!

Splitting the difference would be the perfect solution.

I like the long days and late evenings in the summer and don’t want the sun to set too early so would rather have it either split the difference, or worst case, set it to DST and leave it THERE instead of Standard time.

But that’s only in the winter. However, I do understand. A lot of people like more light at the end of the day. I prefer more light at the beginning, especially when it comes to children walking to school or to their bus stops in the morning.
