Words like terrorism and jihad have definitions. Politicians and military leaders don't like to define jihad as terrorism, and we need to face the uncomfortable reality that faces us. Not all Muslims are jihadists, but all jihadists are Muslims. That is Islam's problem to fix, not ours. We can't continue pretending that jihad doesn't mean conquest of non-believers and that they want to coexist, when the imams and terrorists clearly state their intentions as otherwise. It's insanity to proclaim that our ivory tower elites and media figures know more about Islam than the religion's adherents themselves do.
