(Vanity) A Surprising Spin On The 2018 Election

So the much anticipated 2018 election is over. Scott and DeSantis squeaked out wins in Florida; Beto (barely) got veto'd; McCaskill and Heitkamp are out; Menendez survived; and Keith Ellison won AG in Minnesota. And Occasional-Cortex won her House seat, in a Dem district.

And, the Democrats eked out a win in the House; but it took the combined efforts of 24x7 Trump derangement in the MSM, censorship from social media, hundreds of millions of dollars from liberal billionaires, and backstabbing from the late John McCain and the retiring Paul Ryan, and around 40 GOP resignations, as well as (may we now join in calling them) Faux News calling the House before polls had closed in CA, and over 200 races open, for the Dems to gain fewer seats than average for the out party in their first midterm.

This can mean only one thing.

Nancy Pelosi colluded with the Russians!/b>

Chin up. Impeachment proof Senate plus the chance to remake the entire judiciary for a generation!

The proof that the Red Map still means something is that we won seats in the Senate.

Some 45 republicans retired made this happen along with Trump not going after the criminals.

No “barely” whatsoever about Irish Bob.
He did as well as he with vote fraud, and he has been exposed.

Two years from now we will as be as sick of hearing about illegals voting as we became sick of hearing about Natalie Holloway’s disappearance in Aruba.

If I remember from the Clinton years, impeachment happens in the House, but it’s mostly symbolic, and Censure happens in teh Senate. The House was willing to impeach the President, but the Senate didn’t want any part of it.

So while it’s possible the dems could use their majority in the House to impeach Trump, there are two problems with it for them. First is the fact that it will make them lose votes in 2020. Second is the fact that they have no teeth and Trump stays in office, unless (extreme improbability) the Senate takes it up too.

Agree to an extent. Paul Ryan did zip (absolutely nothing), and; he along with other Republican do nothings in the House did zip on health care, the wall plus much more. Had the tax cuts not gone through the Dems would control Congress.

~~~
All the dems I saw on the tube last night said they wanted to work with Trump on the Senate, and the two that were repeated were border security and infrastructure.
Trump couldn’t even negotiate with the Republican House over immigration but he is a ‘master negotiator’ and his leverage over the dems in the house is the fact that they now want to hold it. They will try to play hardball but I think they will cave. The question is, how much. Perhaps more than the never-trumpers and republican obstructionists did
It is about time he did, go after the criminals. The Democrat party is a mafia cartel. It needs to be brought before the bar of justice. There are potential AG’s who will vigorously pursue these enemies. Appoint one and turn him loose.
Finish the cleanup of the FBI. Penetrate to the 5th level of Hell and pry the parasites out of government. Do it, Donald. Just do it.
I believe you are correct. Trump has demonstrated his ability to negotiate with blood curdling enemies. He certainly can deal with the likes of Pelosi. Even Waters may yet fall prey to his charms. Trump does very well with recalcitrant enemies. He will be fine, even surprising, with the Dems in the House.
The best part of the night? Trump will grab Magoo by the back of the neck and drop kick him out of the nearest window. The second best thing about last night? The Cult of the QooQ’ers is over.
Actions speak louder than words. I’ll believe they’ll work with the Senate and Trump when I see it.
The interesting thing about the Senate is that they had a very slim majority before. This allowed “team of #” or “gang of #” to be effective even if they had only a few self-important participants. I could be wrong but I expect the Senate to be a little more fluid and productive than they were previous session(s)
Pres. Trump and patriots underestimated the size of the swamp imo.
Also, I’m surprised that we didn’t hear anything about probable ballot box stuffing.
Wonder how NOT having the 17th Amendment at this time would have affected the Senate races this time...just wondering as we often talk about how bad it has been.
If the state legislatures picked Senators then VA would now have two Republican Senators instead of the two Demondogs we have now.
