Global warming with lots of CO2 is good—abundant food and vegetation and animal fodder.

Lack of sunspots and global cooling is bad—crop failure, famine, scarcity. When whole nations are starving because of global cooling, what will the liberal wackos say then?

Here in the "Mid-South" we went straight from Summer extended into early October, 90 deg. F some days, to temps running sometimes 20+ deg. F below normal.

No fall, and no "fun" in fall!

At least our colors were pretty good for a couple days. :-)

"what will the liberal wackos say then? "

It's "climate change" not "Global warming". Doesn't matter if the temperature goes up or down. It's the existence of humans that causes "climate change". If they would just surrender to their betters, and go back to scrounging nuts and berries in the woods, so that Communist gender studies professors could drive electric cars, it would all be good.

Temps this week in TX are 25-30 degrees below where they were exactly one year ago.

A HARD winter is coming.

There it is. Proof that man made climate change is even affecting the sun.

Yes. Our efforts to decrease CO2 emissions have clearly been wildly successful, and as a result the sun is now entering an historic cooling period. Yay!

its called radiated refractionary resonance (RRR)

the suns radiation hits the top co2 layer of earth and is bounced back to the sun thereby a huge % of the suns radiation is turned in on itself and it affects the sun spot activity by reducing it.

okay i totally made all that up...but it has a three letter code so there is that...

I'll go out on a limb right now, and say this is not going to stay the same, that we should expect a rapid turnaround from the minima, and while getting there, expect major CME activity. This guess is based on some oddball ideas, as usual, but the flares will be off our angle as we travel about the Sun, and its rotation will bring the newly respotted surface around to our position every 27 1/4 or so days (the Carrington rotation rate of the Sun). I'm tossing this ping to the Catastrophism list, and also the Usual Suspects.

[snip] Sunspot numbers over the past 11,400 years have been reconstructed using Carbon-14-based dendroclimatology. The level of solar activity beginning in the 1940s is exceptional – the last period of similar magnitude occurred around 9,000 years ago (during the warm Boreal period). The Sun was at a similarly high level of magnetic activity for only ~10% of the past 11,400 years. Almost all earlier high-activity periods were shorter than the present episode.[7] Fossil records suggest that the Solar cycle has been stable for at least the last 700 million years. For example, the cycle length during the early Permian is estimated to be 10.62 years and similarly in the Neoproterozoic. [/snip]

We just came off of 24 days in a row without sunspots. That makes 190 days total for the years. compare that with the last two years:

2017 had a total of 104 days without sunspots
2016 had a total of 34 days without sunspots.

The Grand Solar Minimum channel:

As I’ve said before; I’m no expert, just an old lady who is very interested in the subject. Maybe we all need to pay attention to this NORMAL and NATURAL CYCLE.
