Get one of the many Muslims in Minnesota to do the gay filming. :)

Yes, but in this case they are not being asked to bake the cake for a customer requesting it. They are being forced to bake a cake even if nobody asks for it. This is comical.

I also suspect there is more to this “law” than is being proffered in the article.

Private lobbying groups are a very different animal from state government Human Rights Commissions. Which do exist in some states.

The City of Atlanta one is an issue, but there is no state legislation backing up their actions, so their power is more limited. They have no prosecutorial power, as some HRCs elsewhere do.

I strongly disagree with your assertion that the KKK is Rightism. The KKK was established as the paramilitary wing of Democrats, and they have no place in the American Right.

This is a 14th Amendment issue imo. State actors are violating the 14th Amendment by abridging constitutionally enumerated rights.

From the 14th Amendment:

Patriots please note that the states gave Congress the 14th Amendment power to make punitive laws to discourage state actors from violating protections that the states have amended the Constitution to expressly protect, religious expression in this example.

H O W E V E R …

As a consequence of inexcusably widespread ignorance of the Constitution, from the time of the first midterm election after lawless, anti-Christian Obama was elected, Constitution-impaired patriots still haven’t elected a unified patriot Congress that cares about constitutional protections. So the Bill of Rights and other constitutionally enumerated protections are being selectively enforced at this time imo.

Christian filmmakers will now have to wait until after 2020 elections to see if patriots will wake up to elect enough new federal lawmakers who will be willing to make laws to strengthen constitutionally enumerated rights.

Make a film about SODOM and Gomorrah.

Please note, This is with Trump in the White House.

It will take more than electing the right politicians to re-take the culture.

I thought it was only in Canada we had these Orwellian human rights acts.

Didn’t the Supreme Court just rule on this issue on the cake bakery case? Also the Little Sisters of the Poor?

“If it’s that simple, it’s unconstitutional on its face. The SCOTUS would rule 9-0 against it if it came before them. Even the Fossil knows that.”

No way. There are people on that court that don’t believe its role has anything to do with the constitution. Count on it.

Then they would be more likely to side with Trump. Only those that think the constitution gives Acosta some right to act any way he wants and nothing can be done about it thins CNN could prevail. Without the constitutional argument this is even more of a slam dunk for the president - if it could be any more of one.

The whole case is beyond absurd. The idea that acosta can do and say anything he wants is, quite literally, insane.

I strongly disagree with your assertion that the KKK is Rightism. The KKK was established as the paramilitary wing of Democrats, and they have no place in the American Right.

The political terms "right" and "left" originated in eighteenth century France and didn't spread outside its borders until the early twentieth century. And the original "right" was not dedicated to free enterprise. As a matter of fact, American palaeo/libertarian hero Frederic Bastiat was considered a leftist in his day and sat in the same part of the French legislature as the other leftists, including socialists.

The original Ku-Klux Klan and the one that has existed in some form or another since December 1915 are not related and have very little in common. The former was the "resistance" to "carpetbag" rule in the Reconstruction South; the latter was something else altogether. The original Klan was not anti-Jewish or anti-Catholic, or even explicitly chrstian and didn't even burn crosses. For some reason everyone seems to identify the two as one.

The twentieth century Klan did indeed have progressive tendencies, but I doubt it was ever intended to be the paramilitary wing of the Democrat party.

The Larsens want to enter the wedding industry. However, the state’s Human Rights Act stipulates that if the couple creates films celebrating their Christian beliefs about marriage – that marriage is between one man and one woman – they must also create films about marriage that violate their beliefs, including films promoting same-sex marriages.

Not, it would not be unanimous, though it should be.

I would figure this would fall under the recent SCOTUS ruling that said the baker didn’t have to bake the gay cake.

Actually IIRC, SCOTUS skirted actually ruling on the whether he did or not, but just said the political powers did not treat him fairly.

It is utterly unconstitutional. It is forced speech. Fighting this sort of thing in Canada is what made Jordan Peterson famous.

But we have the first amendment in the US. The law is a non-starter.
