Democrat Sherrod Brown just won reelection resoundingly in a Trump state running on Trump’s issues — taking a hard line on trade and helping blue-collar workers. Now the Ohio senator is talking increasingly like he’s prepared to take on the president himself.

This is one in a pretty long list of Republican US Senate and HOR seats in which the Establshment ceded the election rather than be supportive of a pro-Trump candidate. Roy Moore is in this category. And the HOR? Paul Ryan's last dirty deed for his masters was to hand the majority to the dems.

Sherrod Brown is pretty bad. But if the Democrats win Ohio, that’s a big part of winning the election.
Brown won 53-47 against a weak opponent with little statewide name recognition. Brown is the ultimate political name in Ohio. The electorate is very schizophrenic in that they’ll hand Trump an eight-point win and 18 electoral votes, re-elect a center-right Republican (Portman) to the Senate, and then re-elect an ultra-liberal whose has a higher liberal rating than Barack Obama. Unless he comes up with a message and campaign that has nationwide appeal, I don’t think Brown will be able to position himself for a run that requires a broader appeal than just the fringe left.
Twenty? He’ll be one of the 20 at the kiddie table who don’t even get enough votes to appear on the grown-up stage. Especially after his wife-beating becomes widely known.

I tend to agree with you, although I find the answer is even simpler. As I posted at FR a lifetime ago the reason The Bolsheviks are winning is because they want to win more than do The Patriots. Our side too often sees politics as at-best a corrupt debate club because we are busy with useful things like faith, family and productivity. The Bolsheviks see it as existentialist theology because they have nothing else transcendent in their lives other than their own sanctimony and nihilism.
We “choose our fights,” they see every conflict as a matter of life-and-death. When you bring a bouquet to any conflict, even if it is a rhetorical one, your odds of success are slim and none.
Another lunatic Democrat heard from. And I though Whitehouse and Blumenthal were insane. The competition is fierce for the title of “Craziest Democrat Senator” and the field is getting more crowded every day. It’s like “Freak Friday at the Carnival” except this “Freak” thing goes 24/7 and never stops.
Note the violent imagery the partisan shills at Pollutico use for the headline. Very soon, thousands of illegals will be put to the task of filling out the many 100,000s of fraudulent ballots for 2020.

I hope that Sen. Brown will run, along with Biden, Sanders, and Warren. The last four democrat presidential nominees were Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Kerry, and Al Gore. All of them were senators, and three of those four lost.
Even Democrats in Ohio will vote for someone else for president in their primary over this clown.
Sherrod Brown has as much chance to win the RAT nomination for president as any of us Freepers. None at all!
