Progressivism is a Dangerous Mental Disease
DB Daily Update ^ | David Blackmon

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Oh, hey, we’re prosecuting people for lying to congress now? – Former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to a count of lying to congress on Thursday, becoming the 7th person in our nation’s entire history to be prosecuted for this particular crime. Yes, you read that right – the 7th one.

This of course is just a continuation of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s campaign of intimidation and abuse of power in his fake investigation into the Democrat/Media “Russia Collusion” fantasy play. This abusive process has already bullied General Mike Flynn into a guilty plea on a process crime and is now focused on fringe players like Jerome Corsi and Roger Stone.

As the great Mollie Hemingway points out in a piece at the Federalist this morning, Mueller and his cronies like Jim Comey have a long history of trading in this sort of bullying of witnesses into admissions of process crimes in order to claim scalps. It’s well worth the 5 minutes it takes to read it – truly eye-opening, in fact.

And if you’re thinking, hey, maybe next Mueller will go get known congressional perjurers Comey, James Clapper and John Brennan, well, stop living in that dream world, because Mueller is a guy who never targets members of the deep state club, in which he is a lifelong member.

Ocasio Cortez Watch:

No? Neither can I. – Paul Ryan ended his 20-year career in congress on Thursday. Can you list his major achievements?

First, the Social Justice Warriors came for Frosty the Snowman, and we did nothing. Then they came for A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, and we did nothing. Now, they’re coming for Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer:

HuffPost ✔ @HuffPost The holiday TV classic "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer" is seriously problematic. 😳

Progressivism is a very dangerous mental disease. But then, you already knew that, didn’t you?

Speaking of mentally-diseased progressives… – Who can forget yesterday, when top aide to and spokesman for The Pantsuit Princess, the completely deranged Philippe Reines, admitted he doesn’t wear pants when he appears on television, and is damn proud of it. We know this because he was caught on tape as he rampaged through the halls of the Fox News studios yesterday after losing yet another on-air debate with a conservative counterpart.

I swear I don’t make this stuff up.

Reines responded with a tweet, because of course he did:

Oh. Well, then, that makes it all better.

*sigh*

Progressivsim has also become dangerously synonymous to anti-Semitism, in case you haven’t noticed. – CNN decided it had to sever its long, close ties to one of many, many, many progressive paid contributors, Marc Lamont Hill, on Thursday, after Hill had made an inflammatory anti-Israel speech at the United Nations that the Anti-Defamation League declared to anti-Semitic.

In his speech, Hill called for a “free Palestine from the river to the sea”, a term that is commonly used by Hamas and other Muslim terrorist groups. Opposition to Israel’s very existence and blind acceptance and promotion of radical Islam and Sharia law have become major tenets of the Progressive cult over the past decade. It is simply reality that you cannot be an accepted part of the Progressive “in crowd” and not hold what are undeniably anti-Semitic views.

This is a mental disorder, plain and simple, and a very dangerous one. Its belief system dominates today’s Democrat Party and our national news media, and it works every day to brainwash the public at large. It’s fun to make fun of Progressives – I do it here at the Campaign Update each and every day – but it is vitally important that we “normals” out here in Flyover Country recognize these people for what they are and take them very, very seriously.

Because they basically believe everything the Nazis believed, and have many more means at their disposal for getting their hateful messages to the public. The next time we elect one of them to the presidency, things are going to get very, very ugly.

That is all. Follow me on Twitter at @GDBlackmon

Because they basically believe everything the Nazis believed

So true.

Meanwhile, they call Trump a Nazi and a Fascist (because projection) and it's clear to anyone that Trump does not believe anything that the Nazis believed.

Bad Headline - progressivism is a way of thinking, a selfish, controlling, manipulative way of thinking. It is not a disease.

Labeling as disease seems to give people an out “I have a disease” when in reality they are choosing repeatedly to think in ways that are self focused (for an outcome they want), that are controlling of others and manipulative in that they will stop at nothing and steamroll whomever to get to their desired goal.

It’s pure evil born by choice after choice creation in their mind.

Many decades ago, Thomas Szasz wrote the book “The Myth of Mental Illness”.

He did not try to say that chemical imbalances did not exist. He didn’t say that Schizophrenia doesn’t exist. He didn’t say that Depression doesn’t exist.

But he did make the point that you’re making — a lot of people with “problems” are just people who “think wrong”. They’ve grown up with thought processes which do them no favors. They worry, they obsess, they wallow in negative emotions. Neurotic behavior (and other behaviors) are not a disease: they are just unfortunate ways of thinking about the world and approaching daily struggles.

Progressivism definitely fits that description. Not a disease. Just a bad approach to life.

Interesting. Microsoft Bing has taken to feeding me Breitbart news because of its determination of my preferences. I hardly use Google any more. Sometimes, Google gives better search results (for instance, when looking for driving directions), but for most searches, duck is good enough.

Is insanity a mental disease or disorder?
Whatever ever it is, they sure as hell have it.
Some worse than others. Most of em belong in asylums.
They’re a threat to themselves and the nation.

“They’re a threat to themselves and the nation.”

Maybe so, but they’re winning and they’re as crazy as foxes who have wrested control of the public purse, indoctrinated entire generations into doubting the founding documents, made science ithe new national religion,
made Christmas a dirty word, supported ANTIFA as the new national police force, waved soviet flags and worn Che Guevara t- shirts with impunity, called black conservative politicians Oreo cookies as a larger and larger part of the electorate support them in the voting booth.

Amazing.

IMHO

Indoctrination into the cultist Progressive ideology reflects itself in a person's observations and comments on today's sad occurrences. When one sees his world through that limiting lens, then truth and objectivity, reason and enlightenment seem to abandon every discussion.
"A man who lies to himself, and believes his own lies becomes unable to recognize truth, either in himself or in anyone else, and he ends up losing respect for himself and for others. When he has no respect for anyone, he can no longer love, and, in order to divert himself, having no love in him, he yields to his impulses, indulges in the lowest forms of pleasure, and behaves in the end like an animal. And it all comes from lying - lying to others and to yourself." - Fyodor Dostoevsky
A people who do not understand their past are ill-equipped to understand, and deal wisely, with their present and their posterity's future.

The colonists who came through danger to these shores in the 17th Century understood what lack of religious freedom meant; they understood what it was like for themselves and their kin to labor and have the fruits of their labors confiscated; they had understood the denigration associated with not being able to express deeply-held convictions and religious beliefs; and they longed to be free from the burdens of oppressive government.

At any rate, they came to America, and without any government in that vast wilderness to command them, to advise them, to restrict them, they played out their role in what has been called "the making of America," or, by others, "the miracle of America."

Just think of it: from 1620 or so until 1775, individual colonists who survived the harsh conditions in their new land had established an economy that was feeding the Old World.

If any do not believe that, they have not read Edmund Burke's Speech of Conciliation . . . delivered before the British Parliament in 1775.

Every Democrat and Republic leader today needs to read Burke's summary of the unheard-of economic achievements of that British Colony known as "the Americans."

What does all this have to do with Trump and the reluctant Republicans and the resistant Democrats?

Well, if they understood how and what the Years 1775 and 1776 meant, and how that band of strangers in a relatively new society dealt with the situation they found themselves in, and how they responded to courageous and outspoken fellow citizens who appealed to their love and desire for individual freedom and prosperity, then perhaps we could break this cultish and stupid ideology which self-identifies as being "Progressive," when, in fact, it is the most oppressive ideology to take root in the minds of American citizens!

That ideology is so oppressive that if allowed to continue, such authoritarian and group-think control will destroy the Constitutional Republic the men and women of 1776 and 1787 left to us and all of humanity.

"“Posterity! you will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom! I hope you will make a good use of it.” - John Adams, letter to Abigail, his wife
