Of all the places in Washington, Beto O’Rourke chose to run to the Lincoln Memorial. Jogging through an early winter storm in the capital the week following his loss in the race for U.S. Senate, O’Rourke found himself, gimpy knee and all, running up the steps of the majestic monument to the 16th president. There, he wrote in a Medium post, he paused to read the words of Lincoln’s Second Inaugural Address. Suddenly, his knee stopped hurting—as if Honest Abe’s words had a special healing power (but “maybe it just needed to fully warm up,” he wrote).

This guy stole my comparison of Robert aka Beto to Lincoln. The difference I had enough sense to use the comparison to mock him and his supporters. Has Beto spoken one thought on the most important issues of the day. The fraud is all packing no substance.

If he is going to be compared to a Lincoln, I guess Abraham Lincoln makes a better analogy than Benjamin Lincoln, since Abe was elected to the House of Representatives but was defeated when he tried to win a Senate seat. Benjamin Lincoln lost Charleston—if Beto is the nominee in 2020 he would probably carry Charleston (Obama carried it both times).

What strikes me about liberals writing about President Lincoln and his monument in Washington - they almost never mention he was a white supremacist. And I wonder why not in this age of speaking about speaking truth to power?
