I believe that Browning had the traits of all great inventors. First, they are brilliant in that they can conceive an idea, then picture it and finally have the tenacity to stay with the concept until the job is done. Whether it’s Eli Whitney working on the cotton gin – was also involved in mass producing firearms for the government, by the way – or Thomas Edison, who fooled around with that light bulb.
Let’s talk about L.P. Brezny. Brezny is one of those guys who is hard to put a handle on. He hails from the windswept plains of South Dakota and is a former policeman – think old cowboy and sheriff with some trapper and mountain man thrown in.
But what Brezny is first and foremost is a shooter. Everything from shotgun to long-range-rifle shooting is in his bailiwick, so much so that his books Modern Shotgunning and The Gun Digest Book of Long Range Shooting are widely read. He has helped more than one shotgun ammunition manufacturer develop shot loads over the years, and has created his own shotgun-choke system aptly named the Dead Ringer. Most recently, Brezny has invented the Metro Gun system. "Metro Gun?" you say! "What is that?" I am so glad you asked.
Brezny saw the need for a shotgun that would go easy on the ears. Urban sprawl causes tighter constrictions on where shotgunners can shoot. Often, there might be a location where one can shoot, but it would really help to keep the noise down – keeping peace with the neighbors, and all of that. What is that barrel, then? ~6ft? Sure handy for defending against a charging bear in the woods. Looks like a Kentucky Rifle replica.

Why? Half the point of owning a shotgun is to loudly slide the bolt so you don’t have to use the noisier part. At least if used for home defense I want my shotgun as noisy as possible It is not a subtle weapon nor is it meant to be

I want a shotgun AMPLIFIER ... one of the main reasons to have one for self defense is the NOISE it makes. Just shoot a round into the ceiling and bad guys from 3 blocks away will scatter!
You now have a suppressed long-range sniper shotgun! :-)
